Isn't it great? I mean, for most traditional Hard/Heavy fans, to have the chance to grab re-releases of remarkable albums that came out during the mid-to-late 90's/early 00's (when shit music ruled the world, be it Grunge, Brit Pop or Nu-whatever) and - consequently - didn't manage to score reasonable sales and/or worldwide distribution and recognition. Thanks to Majestic Rock and due to M.ill.ion's latest Kingsize release, the ablest Swedish outfit's full-length back catalogue is now on the looze for the followers of time-honored Scandinavian AOR/Hard Rock music. Thus: Hooray!
M.ill.ion was formed like this: After an exciting visit to London and it's Rock 'n' Roll world, bassist B.J. Laneby returned to Sweden with a decision that it's time to form a new band, with the ambition to make it beyond local stardom. He asks lead guitarist Stefan Wetterlind to join and they start looking for hungry musicians with starquality (Source: Welcome To M.ill.ion official site). Raise your glasses high, or isn't it the perfect motive to start a band - be it Classic Metal, Power, Thrash, Black or FM Rock, I don't care? The eventually established band formed its own Million Music label and started rehearsing like nuts! The first demo received positive feedback, leading to various gigs in the Gothenburg area (and not only) and a second demo was on the way. Record deal offers were on the way, leading the band to a contract with Danish independent Bums label. It was time for the act's debut to be recorded in Denmark, additionally mixed in the world famous PUK Studios (Gary Moore, Judas Priest). Let there be... No.1!
M.ill.ion hit with full force, no doubt! In the vein of all-eras Europe, early Talisman and with keyboard additions like Narnia at times, this Swedish band really presents full dynamite, a perfect example of Swedish Hard Rock. You don't need to know more: you can imagine the production, you can smell the musicians' skills, you can fantasize Hasse Johansson's vocal harmonies...
If your record collection already features The Final Countdown, Total Control, Best In Show, Talisman and Danger In This Game then grab this album! Grab it fast! If not, it's always a nice try to get familiar with this Scandinavian gem!
