Some bands will do anything to make their fans happy. The traditional Happy Metal band IRON SAVIOR is one of those. They stared their career in 1996, and they were your typical German Metal band with the singer with the heavy accent. But they persisted, and here we are today. In the course of over 25 years they have produced quite a few records. Ten of them to be exact, before they started getting requests for their first five albums. They are all sold out. So, to make sure the fans would get some of the older stuff in their possession, they wanted to rerelease those first five albums. That proved undoable due to legal reasons, so IRON SAVIOR did the next best thing; they rerecorded some of the old songs and released that as a separate album. this became the "Reforged - Riding In Fire", that saw the light of day in 2017.

Since then, we have had the pleasure of getting two more new records, but the requests for older stuff that was hard to get kept coming. So, IRON SAVIOR decided to once again rerecord a number of their most memorable songs, resulting in this album, "Reforged - Ironbound Vol. 2". And it is a joy to listen to. At least, it is if you love your Happy Metal with all the cliches that the Metal community has come across since the late seventies woven into the mix. Because these Hamburgers from Germany do have that typical German sound that you either love or hate.

What does work in the favour of IRON SAVIOR is that the songs that they have chosen are full of life, packed with energy and overflowing on enthusiasm. The fact that the production of "Reforged - Ironbound Vol. 2" is absolutely spotless doesn't hurt the joy of listening either.  The only thing I am hesitant about is the number of songs you need to get through. Twenty-three! That is quite a long sit if you want to hear it all in one go. I haven't managed it once. Not because I don't like the songs or the music, but because it often feels a bit too much of the same to me. The variation could have been more evident. But then again, as "Reforged - Ironbound Vol. 2" is recorded in honour of the fans, they must be scooping this up by the bucketload. And quite rightly so.
