SAINTS TRADE are a hard rock collective, formed in 2009 in Bologna, Italy. The trio released their debut studio album "Robbed in Paradise" back in 2015. Fast forward seven years and SAINTS TRADE have just revealed their third album release "The Golden Cage". As a predecessor to the album, the group teased the release with the single "Casino Royale". As a result, "The Golden Cage" was officially released on March 25th, 2022, via Art of Melody Music.
The first track on the album is "Neverland", starting off with an infectious guitar riff, we are introduced to the vocals of Santi Libra. His vocal style really suits this genre of music from the get-go. The chorus almost has a power metal anthemic type feel to it, but without the generic chord progression. "Break the Chain" is up next, which is much slower in comparison. This track sounds very similar to something that classic rock bands from the 80s would create such as BON JOVI, especially with the electrifying guitar solo. "Casino Royale" starts off well with a kick-ass guitar solo, which is sure to impress any listener. It seems as though the lyrics are speaking of a romantic love interest. The chorus is infectious, reminding me a lot of a typical chorus from KISS or MOTLEY CRUE.
"That's What I Know" is intriguing from the get-go, with a powerful riff doing all the talking. This has a classic rock feel overall, which seems to be primarily inspired by MOTLEY CRUE and their chant style chorus in "Kickstart My Heart". "Stay With Me" seems a bit more romantic in style, in terms of the chord structure. The chorus most certainly transports you to an older time in music, which is a great thing. This is one of the best songs on the album by far. Next up is "Lockdown Blues", which is a very relevant song, describing the past two years perfectly. The chorus is addictive yet again, really giving some positivity and light to an otherwise awful situation. Another sure highlight on this release!
"Mirror of Myself" is in a similar vein, maybe not quite as anthemic as the last, whereas "Once and for All" experiments more with synth style sounds right at the start. "Together We Stand" almost has a FOREIGNER feel about it, with the style of instrumentals used. They are clearly trying to adapt to more of an arena rock sound, trying to gain a mass audience as a result - not a bad thing by any means! "Double Trouble" is another catchy banger within this album. The chorus is extremely infectious and will surely get you singing your heart out in no time! Lastly, the introduction of "Born To Do" sounds like a song that AIRBOURNE would release, with their riffs throughout really upping the ante. A fantastic song to end this album on, that's for sure.
In my opinion, "The Golden Cage" is such a well written and produced album, which has some hard-hitting bangers on there,
certain to blow you away! Tracks such as "Stay With Me" and "Lockdown Blues" are two of the best songs though, for sure. They are insanely infectious and will be sure to get in your head. Their classic hard rock instrumentals are impeccable throughout. I would recommend anyone looking for a new album to listen to to try out SAINTS TRADE's "The Golden Cage". Truly outstanding music!
