Started in 2006 by Roy Grimreaper, this band from the Netherlands adapted old style Death metal techniques and songwriting. Releasing their first EP in 2010 called Morbid Intensions and a full length album in 2012 entitled Step Into Domination. In 2016 they put out another full album called Phantasm and shortly after in 2018, they parted ways with long time guitarist Kellie Chopper. In June of 2021, they returned with their third album Dreadfully Expired.
The album starts off with the song "Brutal Conspiracy", as it kicks in with a dense and static Death metal riff. The drums are well played as they sound as if they are recorded live with the guitars. Vocals are a low gurgling growl that carry on the momentum of the music. The next track is "Disgusting Life" and it is dominated by rumbling double kicks and sharp symbol hits that seem to cause a distortion to the song and overpowers the guitars. "Slow Infernal Decay" is fast paced and made to distort your senses. Is the better of the songs on the album for me, intense drumming and chunky riffs that fed off each other. The guitars control the tempo, allowing for a small echoing solo to find its way into the track.
"Children of Agent Orange" brings a true 80's Death metal feeling to life while incorporating a Thrash, and at times, a higher paced doom element. Roy's deep roar is over the drums more on this track than on some of the others it seems, as they stand out more to the listener. The track "The Body Was Still Warm" is an intense ride of thunderous drums and a mix of some sonic guitars and chunky and heavy riffs. The drumming with the chorus is well put together and is pretty catchy as a whole. Each track starts off with some spoken words from movies or tv shows, or possibly news reports and "Full Scale Massacre" is the same. The track is mid-tempo as the guitars let some of the notes ring before picking up the pace towards the end. The album finishes off with "Pestitential Apocalypse" is a track that has a lot of rhythm for a Death metal song and is pretty easy to get your banging. The lead guitar comes into play with this track and fits along with the drumming to create a little more layers to the song.
The album at times with the drums seems like they could be taken back a bit as the double bass seems to drown out the guitar and it seems hard to pick up what is being played. The vocals are a perfect fit for the style and are done well. The music really does seem to embody the early working of a DEATH or MORBID ANGEL and could really be enjoyed by someone who grew up with that style and is looking to give something new a chance.
