Master Of Disguise (Reissue)
Savage Grace

It must be a sign of the times. Or is it just me getting older? Reissues of classic Heavy Metal albums are the order of the day, it seems. I now have two rereleased albums of SAVAGE GRACE to review, while I already have the former rereleases, done by LIMB Music. Are you still with me? The big differences between the ones that are already in my CD collection and this one is that this time Hammerheart Records have actually taken the time and made the effort to remaster the original album and put both versions on the discs. That makes this this onto a two-disc version, and the Limb one is just the one. Oh, for I forget, I've got the original "Master Of Disguise" album on vinyl. Well, I would, wouldn't I?
If you never have heard SAVAGE GRACE, it is pure bred US Metal in its finest form. Fast furious, with great vocals, thundering riffs, screaming guitar solos, pounding drums and a dangerous rolling bass sound. So, now that is out of the way, I can concentrate on trying to describe what if what you get with this version of "Master Of Disguise" is worth the money. Well, yes, it is, because the remastering is doing SAVAGE GRACE justice. The sound is even clearer than it was, making the music less chaotic, more impressive, a lot more in your face and threatening, but also easier to follow. This is done without losing any of the original heaviness, emotions and or intentions, which is quite the feat. Together with all the extra's you find on the album gives you the total of just under 135 minutes of great US Metal. If that isn't getting your money's worth, I really don't know what is.
The demos as well as the Dominatress are not be found anywhere else, at least not for a normal price. If you're lucky enough to run into them, you might find out the prices charged to obtain them are just as ridiculous of those of bitcoins. But to be clear, SAVAGE GRACE deserves all the accolades they can get, as "Master Of Disguise" is a true gem of a record, with brilliant songs that are still shining, even after almost forty years. Which makes it so unbelievable that SAVAGE GRACE is so much underrated. They really are one of those forgotten treasures that need to be rediscovered and held in high regard. Let's hope that these reissues will achieve that goal for them.
