Formed in Finland, this new trio of Black Metallers KRIEGZEIT present their debut album here titled "Hateworship." The album contains nine tracks. "Intro" leads off the album. It's a very short mood-setter, but before a mood even develops, it's over. "The Cult of Black Stone" opens with a more linear riff considering the style. The vocals are screams done in tandem, and the production is just a little bit better than most Black Metal albums. It slows for a brief spell than the madness returns. "For You the Son" brings more of the same to the table...horrid vocals, scratchy guitars and some decent drumming...although the tones are just off due to the production.

"Hymn for Hermit" is a bit slower and has an evil grind to it. It picks up close to the half-way mark, with thunderous drumming and tortured vocals. The sound continues with this fast pace through the finish line. "Journey to the Next World" begins with some old-school call to arms but then the chaos ensues. There is some variation here with the riffs but overall the stale style comes through strong. "Souls for the Land" opens with a riff that is reminiscent more of the Thrash Metal style than Black Metal for me, but it soon descends into energy and madness, with harrowing vocals and thumping bass notes. They get a little inventive here in this song with some middle section riffs, but it doesn't last long.

The title track brings more of the same to the table; thrashy riffs and horrid vocals. A guitar solo is present as well, though sloppy and indicative of what outsiders often accuse Black Metal of lacking. "Bestial Oath" is another scorcher with much of the same sound. C'mon guys, at least try to sound a bit different than your idols. "Union of Decay" closes the album. It begins with a little guitar trickery and a somewhat linear riff. From there the vocals pick up and it's an all-out rage of instruments and chaos.

This was yet another Black Metal album that was just too close to the FWOBM without much diversity. I am always curious about why a band would choose to bring this style back once again. Perhaps it is to make sure that the original style never dies, but I don't think this will ever be a valid concern, because it obviously isn't going anywhere. You can safely skip this one. It's too bad as well, because the cover art is great.
