"Look deep into nature and then you will understand everything better" Albert Einstein

...And If the eyes that drink from the well that is the citadel of green, where its titans towers above all, where its lifeblood runs along the rocks, and the very breath that echoes forth through its vessel births the sound between the canopy of trees...if these miraculous moments could be etched into the fabric of music then WALDGEFLÜSTER would be the weaver for which "Dahoam" would represent the tapestry that displays nature's magnificence.

'Dahoam" manages to summon the invocation of the forest's spell, bringing forth an air of life to these green landscapes with the array of musical arrangements interlacing intricately into one another like the roots of the loft oak that snakes deep into the earth, drinking upon the waters...and the river that bleeds from the mouth into the woodlands where its blood impregnates the fertile fortress. Songs such "Mim Blick aufn Kaiser" and "Am Tatzelwurm" explore the facets of Atmospheric Black Metal as well as Folk Metal with its myriad of patterns where the strings and drums are concerned, even injecting ambient moments into the mix.

A positive that may disguise itself as a negative to some listeners may take the form of the track length of certain songs which clocks the ten-minute mark. However, the length matters not, for it does not appear to be contrived as though WALDGEFLÜSTER has forged a bloated work of art, quite the opposite for these lengthy moments is the most organic where "Dahoam" is concerned, for it takes the listener's senses amidst a journey with its meandering instrumental compositions as well as the depths felt during the ambient pieces. "Im Ebersberger Forst" is a track which unfolds itself to display a panoramic splendour, as though one is basking in nature's aura, where the flesh absorbs the essence of its environment, and this is conjured with the arcane yet mystifying tones from the strings aided by the percussive elements giving it a rather ceremonial feeling.

However, if one were to stand in awe, revering nature's creation from the womb whence it was birthed, then the vocals on "Dahoam" would be the voice that sings the praises of such beauty. The harsh vocal delivery with its slithering demeanour gives the illusion of a being who has arrived at a revelation, where he no longer possesses his voice, but he is but a mere conduit to the veins of the mountains, the roaring of the river and the harsh winds against the trees...all channelling through the verses he speaks. Personally, this is one of the major highpoints on the album, as it is the sinew which binds the other components creating a unique soundscape. It is because of these values within the album I would wholeheartedly say that "Dahoam" is a superb release full of many in-depth layers of ambience.
