DEATH TRIBE formed in 2015 in Lebanon, and later migrated to The Netherlands. Solo artist from the group KAOTEON, this is the band's second album, and contains eight tracks. "Blacked Out" leads off the album. The opening track is slow, groovy, and thick with harsh vocals. In some ways, they remind of MERCENARY. It's the rhythmic work and vocals mostly. "Thawra" begins with some heavy, weighted and odd rhythms, combined with meaty bass tones. The odd tones here are dissonant, but pleasing, in a way that is hard to describe. Progressive elements...why not? The vocals vary here quite a bit, and the songwriting reminds me of IHSAHN.

"Schavuit" opens with eerie tones, and a sound that builds. The Symphonic elements really come through here, with some keys and other tones in the background. The rhythms are super heavy and solemn. "Let There be no Man" begins with some lead guitars and percussion, followed by chugging, weighted vocal rhythms that are almost rapped, and symphonic elements. Harrowing sounds develop from there, along with more Progressive elements. "Making a Murderer" opens with some scary tones, and more thick bass guitar lines. The Death vocals are especially harsh here, along with some fine accents in the guitars and drums. This is some very tight stuff. Pull back the curtain and see for yourself that the violin parts are played by a skeleton in a loose-fitting cloak.

"Crematorium" is a quick, four-minute blast consisting of a more straightforward, almost bluesy sound. The raspy vocals show the versatility of Anthony. Some MOTORHEAD influences come through here in this simple but effective song. "The World is Sick and Dying" is a truth we all will come face to face with some day. Slow, pounding rhythms complete with pig squeals dominate the sound here. "We are Death Tribe" closes the album, with a slower grind of despondent guitars and harsh vocals. Are we listening to Sludge Metal here? The diversity of the songs on the album is pretty impressive. It ends the listening experience on a more solemn tone.

Death Metal? Symphonic Metal? Progressive Metal? Yes, all three please. What an odd combination of several styles. But the more you listen to it, the more you become addicted to it. I've never heard KAOTEON before, but Anthony is a talented individual, that is for sure. Take a listen to this...it's singularly unique and mesmerizing at the same time. You will find a diverse eight tracks here, each one different from the other. Hell, when you talk about MERCENARY, IHASHN, and MOTORHEAD in the same review, you will understand what I am talking about.
