Bison - Perfect Mistakes album cover

We are living in the Golden Age of comebacks, reboots, and revivals. You may remember BISON from the early 2000s when they blasted onto the Nu Metal scene, dropping hits like "Mindstate" and sharing the stage with the likes of THE WHITE STRIPES and HOOBASTANK, playing venues like Vans Warped.

Now that I've reminded you about them, you're probably wondering "oh yeah, they rocked! What happened to those guys anyway?" Well, I'll tell you. Burnout. They got tired, which any of us can understand. But now BISON have woken from their 14-year nap and they've given us the gift of "Perfect Mistakes" to show us what a revival done correctly looks like.

This album, from start to finish, is a pure homage to early Nu Metal. It will put you in mind of LINKIN PARK and P.O.D. but updated in every sense of the word. BISON took their old sound off the shelf and zazzed it right up for the current times. The melodies are heavy yet catchy, and the classic Nu Metal rapping / singing vocals leave absolutely nothing to be desired. From track one, "Begin Again" you will be nodding your head and trying to crank your volume even further up. The melody is energetic and catchy and the vocals are flawless, belting out some rather pertinent lyrics.

Every track on this album is an outright home run. There's non-stop energy and beautifully written lyrics perfectly executed by phenomenally talented musicians. I think the best example of this is the final track, "A Million Miles" which demonstrates not only the best vocal performances on the album but an outstanding instrumental performance as well.

All in all, these guys have shown us the Right Way to do nostalgia. They've given us a classic sound with modern tones and power. Not just a rehash of the same old thing, but the old thing taken and given new life. Bravo, BISON. This one's a hit.
