Pistols At Dawn

Rising up from the scene in Atlanta, Georgia we have PISTOLS AT DAWN with their new E.P "Nocturnal Youth". The band was founded back in 2015 and the line up was then completed by VH1 Rockstar Supernova finalist Chris Pierson on vocals. This is filled with lots of high energy and heavy hitting radio rock and will appeal to those who are fans if the likes of GODSMACK, BREAKING BENJAMIN and SHINEDOWN.
Kicking things off we have the opening track "Crown" that starts off with a real rocking riff. The vocals come in and sets the tone for what's to come. The song has lots of high energy which is shown when that big chorus hits. The song then brings it down and then builds it back up to hit us with one more big chorus. Great start to the E.P. Next up we have "Gone Black" which has a nice heavy intro. The band wastes no time in kicking things off here. It has some really cool guitar work during the chorus and it is a chorus you can really shout along with. The breakdown hits and leads us to a killer guitar solo. This then leads to a middle section where the rest of the band gets some time to shine through. This was a great song.
"Now is the Time" opens with this killer riff that you can really bang your head to. It goes tons bit of a low and quiet verse but then builds to a really big sounding chorus and has a guitar solo that creeps in with that way pedal adding some extra flavour. This is just a great song and I can picture it being a radio hit. We come to the last song with "Voices" and right from the start it hits like a ton of bricks. The guitars disappear for the verse but they come back and the song builds to a big sing along chorus. The middle section here has this really cool guitar riff with a solo that jumps right on top of it and lifts the song up. Great way to close out this E.P.
From listening to "Nocturnal Youth" the band PISTOLS AT DAWN are a real radio rock act that have a lot of cool guitar riffs with some great vocals and some great songs. You can really feel the energy in each song here. The only negative I have is that there wasn't more songs here as I really enjoyed this. I can't wait to hear more from this band and hopefully (when the world goes back to normal) they and catch them at a live show. Really loved this one
