Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: SCARVED; signed via Sleazy Rider Records, hailing from Greek grounds - performing Hard Rock, on their 3rd album entitled: "Flashback" (released May 7th, 2021).
Since formation in 2012; the quartet in question have 3 albums in their discography so far entitled: "Dynamite" (released in 2014), "Lodestone" (released in 2017) & this here 3rd album of which I am introduced to entitled: "Flashback". 10 tracks ranging at around 48:48 SCARVED arrange an intricately designed formula on some heavy-hitting Hard Rock developments.
Opening up with this majestic soundwave on night sky resonance this upcoming overture; "Fly" starts off the record with rampantly rompy remedies that revel with boisterously bouncy hooks, blistering fretwork mobility & trailblazing rhythms that rift with sonically seamless stability. Killer laceration harmonizes a flamboyant kick while shredding with monolithic grooves and striking momentum on catchy finesse while punchy jumpiness elements a hybrid experimentation on rip-roaring synergies that surge with weighty ramifications. The titular track "Flashback" examines vibrantly quirky snappiness where quintessential virtuosity belts into a barrage frenzy on zestful melody, manifesting with panache and euphonic eclat. A dynamic attribute in dextrous but flamboyant implementations contrasts a belting clobbering as distinctively distinguished jingles utilize uniquely versatile vehemence with potent nimbleness to boot.
Consisting of Caro Verboven on vocals, the frontman excels at a profusely robust singing maelstrom where pipes hit into overdrive with strong and high-pitched yells while screaming with mellifluous yet tame performances. Rough vocal cords distil an exhilarating impact with the sulfurous craftsmanship in fluidly polished songwriting musicianship that's offered here. "Schizofrenic" fuels a concretely gritty empowerment on rapidly swift wildfire, old school & traditional pandemonium solidifies with crunchy guitar hymns from Luc Van Dessel (also on backing vocals), his meticulous prowess showcases this organic substance on thunderously volatile perseverance which swerve with hefty complexity especially in the melodic silvery of "Nightshift" where unknown yet symphonic hypnotism marvels you with sublime yet lofty pursuits.
"Poison Kiss" rocks with rumbling reverberation, while rocking with thudding sturdiness & sophisticated medley. An audible backing vocal rendition from Luc murmels with vibrato splendour, also from the rambunctiously thumpy piledrives from bassist Vincent De Laat and from the stompy yet pounding persistency from hammering drummer Kjell de Raes (who smacks the set with steely precision) all contribute a soothingly operatic hum in which revolves around a chiselling gravitation on slaying yet sweet-toned and heavy symphony. "Head Over Hills" creates a radically wicked instrumental haste, while vocalist Caro continues to soar with stunningly prestigious tonality. One of the memorably motivating rockers while "Rising Soul" fabricates a kind of psychedelic foundation as a borderline firepower expertise thrills you with wildly rushing systematics while merging tuneful yet awe-inspiring ambition in enthusiastic skill to boot in which will give off a feel-good sensation to rock to with hardened elegancy and breathtaking exquisity.
"Lost In Space" has a kind of melancholic ballad embedded within; where synthesized acoustics articulates with vivacious verve, while zestful yet other worldly rhapsody portrays an angelic but soulful serenity to it in which makes you feel like an unearthing organism of fulfilling enlightenment. While the penultimate track "Lockdown" briskly evolves into a motoring groove-bomb in agility and slamming smacks which brings back the sporadic yet salubriously volatile blitzkrieg in with full force, where immersively intense bangs and ferociously fierce energy unleashes tenfold while this extremely aggressive bombast culminates a feverish furore in chunky flair which also fuses an easy-listening boundary for good measure.
Overall concluding "Flashback" with the finale epic "Catch Me Offline" which sings of the typical lifestyles in everyday reality; I am compelled to say that SCARVED most certainly delivered an exemplary grandeur in grandiose and outdoing rocking prodegiousness. An enjoyably entertaining album full of grinding chugs, outre singsong vivacity & excellent buoyancy where this vigorously ushering exuberance demonstrated an enjoyably entertaining discovery for sure. Worthy of spinning & replaying a good handful of times, do check it out if an upbeat, sanguine & joyful listen is on your agenda.
