This 3 piece band from Wollongong, Australia is a Heavy Metal Band. The group began as a solo Project for Lord Tim Grose as he was part of a band called Dungeon until 2005 when Dungeon broke up and Lord had become complete with the additions of Andy Dowling and Mark Furtner. The name Lord is usually stylised in all capital letters. Although this album is all Covers what makes it so good is that its not all Heavy rock bands, they are covering there is also the softer side of music and challenging songs for a Heavy Metal Band.
"The Moon And Back (Savage Garden Cover)" The band have sung this song really well with all instruments played in sync together. The guitars that are playing at the start of the song really set the tone of the song well. The lead vocalist of this song has a distinct voice which sounds familiar to the singer in Savage Garden and does remind me to listening to the band again.
"Send Me An Angel (Real life Cover)" Listening to this song i feel that the keyboards have a main part in this as this instrument starts off the song really well and carries on being played throughout the song gelling together with all the other instruments. The vocals in this song are portrayed well as this is a love song in my mind and this band have kept it that way. As the bass kicks in that's when the song adapts into a fast pace.
"I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight (Cutting Crew Cover)" This 80's cover song was originally released in the United Kingdom in July 1986 but wasn't released in the states until January 1987. This Particular cover song is a challenging song for Lord as it is sung in a slow manor and would be particularly hard for a Heavy Metal Band, but Lord have proved us all wrong. The vocals are particularly important in this song as you need sing the song with the same emotion as the original version.
"The Sun Always Shines On TV (A-Ha Cover)" The vocalist in this song starts off the song with a slow tempo and gentle voice but as the song gradually goes on it becomes more Heavy Metal with the instruments joining in as well. As originally this song was a Pop song LORD has managed to make it their own with putting a twist on it.
My overall thoughts on this album are the way LORD have made every song their own version there are lots of different genres in this album which would be very challenging to other artists that aren't in the same genre. The way all the instruments and vocals gel together make the song better as you can see, they have put a lot of time and effort in making it the best they can be.
