Of Mice & Men - Timeless album cover

Formed all the way back in 2009 in Costa Mesa, California in the USA we have the awesome OF MICE & MEN. This band has done a lot in their time together, they played the likes of Download Festival and Warped Tour, they have toured with some big names like LINKIN PARK and RISE AGAINST back in 2015, and were even on the 2017 tour with SLIPKNOT, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH AND IN FLAMES. With many great albums under their belts like "Restoring Faith", "The Flood" and even their self titled album are all modern day classics that are worth your attention. After recently signing with Sharp Tone Records they released their brand new E.P "Timeless" which came out back in February 2021.

The first song we have is the title track "Timeless". This fades in with a slight ambience which then gets taken over by pounding drums and guitars with a killer lead guitar line playing over it. It then jumps right into a bit of a thrash metal style riff for the verse with some great harsh sounding vocals. This then transcends into a great sing along chorus and a breakdown that will really open up the pits. Next we have "Obsolete". This one opens with what sounds like a helicopter landing, but then we get the guitars creeping in on either side as the heavy music builds into a real head banger of a tune. I really loved the verse riff and the big sounding chorus this track had. From listening this song even had a middle section which musically I found to be very moving.

The last song on the E.P and we have "Anchor". This one has a really heavy groove to it at parts. The verse is very stripped down and very clean and melodic, this then builds into an anthem style chorus line and back to that heavy groove from earlier. A track like this really brings you on a journey. So with "Timeless"OF MICE & MEN are back with plenty more Metalcore mayhem. From listening the band sounded inspired and their playing was on fire here. Plenty of heavy riffing and big sounding choruses to sing along with and breakdowns that will really get the pits started and going crazy. The last time they played in Dublin, Ireland I unfortunately wasn't able to make it but if they ever come back and play any of these songs you can be sure I will be there. Even though it was only three songs, this E.P kicked a lot of ass and leaves you wanting more.
