SLUTT was a Heavy/Glam Metal band from Britain formed in the mid-1980s. They broke up in 1991 and only released the one self-titled record. Cult Metal Classics Records recently dusted it off and reissued is with two additional tracks on January 7, 2021. This is a re-issue that did not benefit from remastering or re-recording., likely due to the death of lead singer Jay C. in 1998.

The recording is fairly rough and kind of raw. The production value is decent, but not great. Most of the song, like "Angel" and "Woman Of The Nite" are pretty stock standard songs about attractive women that are valued for their looks and seductive skills. There were hundreds of songs like this throughout the 80s and beyond and they were popular at the time, some still are.

"Breakin' All The Rules" is that rebellious anthem, as is "Revolution". Again, lots of songs like this back in the day. The songs are catchy, but fairly common. This band is a little harder than many of the glam bands of the day, but one look at the cover and it is hard not to envision the hairspray budget being larger than the recording budget.

"Atomic Antelope" starts out like it could be the power ballad of the record, only to devolve into nothing but a bunch of flatulence and laughter. Too bad, the guitar intro was pretty decent. "T. K. O." follows and is somewhat catchy, but again, nothing spectacular. Most of these songs are just tired.

There is a cover version of the ELVIS PRESLEY song "Blue Suede Shoes" that is almost good. It was recorded live and sounds like they may have been halfway decent in concert. I've seen quite a few bands that sound much better live than they do on their studio recordings. The two added songs are a demo ("U Took My Breath Away") and another live song ("Breakin' All The Rules"). They sound like they were recorded through the soundboard and are decent, but not great.

One of the key things to note is, much like C. C. DeVille of POISON, Randy Preston is a highly talented, underutilized, and could probably play in almost any kind of Metal band. The guitar work is the best thing about this band. The bass and drums are good, but mostly pretty formulaic. The music is catchy, but not great. The energy of the live songs is pretty good. I can bet the crowd loved the show and these guys probably put on a good show. Who knows what they could have been if they kept going? We will never know.
