With only over 100 likes on Facebook, and no entry on The Metal Archives, I was not able to find much information about this band on the web. Only a quote, from Oscar Wilde, which reads: "Yes: I am a dreamer. For a dreamer is one who can only find his way by moonlight, and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world." "Beach Things" contains five tracks.

"The Forest where Ravens Lie Still" is the opening song. It's a short, mood setting instrumental, with the sounds of a raven crowing, and some pretty piano notes. Clean guitar notes some in towards the latter half of the song. "Our Last Winter" begins with the sounds of a light rain storm. The main riff is peppy, and it sound loosely like Black Metal, but with some ambient tones as well. The keyboards have a Dungeon Synth quality to them for me. It takes a bit of a pause towards the end, then the opening sound returns again, as the drums gain steam. It ends with clean guitar notes and the return of the rain. It's quite poignant.

"And then you said Goodbye" begins with a howling wind and sad, clean guitar notes. The main riff drops, and it's both powerful and commanding. It retreats again to the sound of waves gently crashing on the shore, and a guitar solo comes in, washing you...cleansing you in a way. It builds to a crescendo towards the end. "Beached Things" hears the wind pick up and then a distorted guitar comes in along with some light drumming, leading to a steady and easy pace from there. The keyboards are there in support, and provide a shining light in this otherwise fairly bleak sound.

"Ashes Under the Grave" is the long closing song. Birds chirp happily, and a gate opens, while guitars and keys maintain a hopeless sound. The juxtaposition of these two elements is quite striking. The music moves slowly, allowing the melancholy tones to really soak in. Drums roll forth, and the keys and guitars carry the melody in unison. The gate closes at the end. This was billed as Post Metal to me...but for me, it's more of an amalgam of Black Metal with some Doomy elements, as well as some Post elements. At its core, it is sad and depressing, but some light shines in at times as well. This was a very well-executed album that doesn't need vocals to get the point across.
