This album was originally put together by Lewis Nitikman. He started off his career working with a band called STONEBOLT in 1981. Wanting to expand his musical knowledge, Nitikman decided to attend Berklee College of Music. Shortly thereafter, he left the group and headed from Vancouver to Boston. After graduating, he made the move back up to Canada, where he started to write his own album. Once he was introduced to Dave Buckthorpe, they started working on an album...

And the masterpiece that came out of that is known as "Diamond in The Rough". This album is nothing but classic melodic rock. All the way through, you have soft keyboards ringing, peaceful guitars riffs screeching, and peaceful, soothing lyrics to listen to. All of the instruments used in this album flow together very nicely and have that definite classical 80's feel to them. If you are looking for something to bring you back a couple millennia, you should try to snag one of these limited copies, if you still can.

Starting off with the song, "Walk On The Wire", I can heavily feel the pop influence of the era this music comes from. It almost makes you want to get up and dance, but it has a flow to it that is very easy to vibe to. The lyrical message behind the song is quite intriguing. I won't give too much away, but it seems as if there is a certain kind of love embedded within the music. That could be a personal depiction of it, or something the artist truly meant to portray. You'll just have to give it a listen and see what you think.

"When It's All Said And Done", the fifth song on this album, has quite a bit of rock influence, which adds to the diversity of the album. The track gives the album a slightly different feel right in the middle of it. Don't get me wrong, there is still a heavy pop and melodic influence behind this song, but the guitar is quite a bit heavier in places. The guitar flows greatly and brings in just enough of that edge that you might need to keep you listening to this album.

The following "Stand And Deliver" is a very laid back song, with a melodic beat that draws you in and pulls your attention to the music. Just like how the undertones of the songs "Run From The Dark" and "Ain't Good Lovin" capture your attention because they are just easy to get lost in and intoxicated by. Pair that with listening for an underlying message in the lyrics and you may just have a life changing album. Sit down, relax, and give this old school melodic album a listen. The track, "I Believe In This Love" is available on the album through the link for the limited  re-release of this wonderful CD from the 80's. There is so much thought and hard work that went into this album, and if you enjoy old melodic rock, you surely will not be disappointed!
