Conquering the Infinite Void
Lord Orots
Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: LORD OROTS; signed via Onism Productions, performing Atmospheric Black Metal/Dungeon Synth, on his new EP entitled: "Conquering The Infinite Void" (released 7th of August 2020). The soloist in question has released a new EP entitled: "Conquering The Infinite Void" 4 tracks of Atmospheric Black Metal/Dungeon Synth ranging at around 33:38; LORD OROTS arranges an intricately designed formula of some heavy-hitting Atmospheric Black Metal/Dungeon Synth amalgamations.
Opening up with this howling hooting in a graveyard-esquire dungeon-like castle and field; an frightening but envisioned environment, and a barraged frenzy full of ambience, and atmospheric but plaintive keyboard synth within "A Timeless Kingdom"... a glistening but awe-inspiring aura and an angelic harp twinkle over the rain & thunder hammering down into a black abyss of this spooky landscape; mystifying soundscapes shroud your speakers until this overarching yet insistent guitar fret within this sulphurous riff in Black Metal majesty manifests with the synthesized outrè of panache, meticulous orchestration & ritualistic gloominess full of evoking, but eeriely haunting doom aesthetics brilliantly forge a diligently crafted attribute in an enriching amalgamation of uniquely versatile vehemence within this other-worldly mood of ruination revelling in dormancy and gothic but symphonic terror...twirling & spiraling around as you try to capture and conjure up the inventive folklore Lord Otus has magically invented. This void is not particularly of the dangerous kind, but the pacing here is ambitiously embittered.
Consisting of solo frontman himself Lord Orots; who performs on everything imaginable, his deadly presence showcases an experimental but hybrid dimension of organic substance & complex dexterity in a dynamic but cinematic opera that merges this calming element in tribal yet primitively raw oscillation with pianist artistry; a hint of depressive Black Metal solace while portraying this sublime vibrato of quirky maelstroms while providing snappy vibrancy, slabbed with monolithic tempos which surge into an ominous ramification of hypnotising horror...hymns of symbolic virtuosity with quintessential perseverence wonders with this vast performance of shreiking riffs; bong-battering drums, and a gnarly roar of throaty shouts with raspy soars snarl like an enraged madman wishing for infinite freeness and reprieve. Very barren here on these fronts, but hints do shine & ooze out here and there where mostly the melancholic mellow flows into an immersive dose of this melodious void in dread and tight weightiness of profusely robust instrumental fluidity.
"The Black Abyss" is a bludgeoning profanity of blasphemous darkness; tempestuous winds storm until more spellbinding whirlwinds pattern through this revolving stem of mysterious retribution, the screams are intriguingly profound, where the torment of anguish and hellish foreboding persistently rage with satanic possession...Lord Otus' passion here arrives to summon this dragon's lair and awaken him in this neverending spiral that outbursts with punishing malice.
Wishing to be free from his fated shakles of oppression...while the songwriting musicianship stems with this rollicking spectrum of theatre-esquire characteristics, interestingly demonstrating this sinister but catchy culmination of horror film and sword with sourcery juxtapostions that while mixed with this sub-genre, it can go hand in hand exceedingly...if you use your imagination in that sense. As he breaks free, from this state of maniacal madness...he arrives to the lair of the nemesis that the lord wants to take over. Which advances into the next track...it's a bizarre combination, but it's a crescendo that works salubriously well in a progressively technical distinction...a visionary universe in a darkened hallway in a medieval surround springs to mind...where the lord confronts this nightmarish envision of poignant rebellion through these untold truths of witchcraft mayhem.
"Nexfaxion's Awakening" is an arbitrary ascension of this insidious creature hellbound on unleashing ruthless pandemonium; venomously injecting an infectious audibility of towering embodiments of evil empowering demonizing. The lord illuminates his ghastly herald of organ lethargy; neo-classical fundamentals fuelled with occassional yet volatile skyrocketing of trailblazing oomph in distinguished but euphonic aurora, implementing catchy crunchiness as it awakens the latency lamentation of the sleepy & dreamy dragon that watches over the pitiless land with this hawking glare of looming synergy. Otus systematically controls Nexfaxion, onto the overall concluding harmony of the finishing epic: "The Lord Rises From His Throne". Reigning high, as he transcends to supreme prevailing of the castle he now owns...never to be challenged again.
Bottom line; LORD OTUS certainly outdone himself with this one, it's a constructive offering that establishes a borderline foundation of creative finesse and charismatic but impactful storytelling skill. Resulting in a grandiose grandure of some momentously flamboyant ideas that will relish you with some stylish yet refreshing replayability value that while this may feel a bit repetitive to some, this discovery is aimed for lovers of these sub-genres and won't win everyone over. However, "Conquering The Infinite Void" is certainly an evolving but imaginative tale with prodegiously prestigious zest, and enlightening but fulfilling expertise that most definitely deserves a listen for three. Give it a spin, and broaden horizons!
