Invicta
Rituals
Coming from the "Land Downunder", RITUALS, released their second EP, "Invicta", on August 15, 2020. Self-described as a "Gothenburg Metal" sound, this band originally formed in June of 2017. With two EP's under their belt, and only a few songs to boot; RITUALS sure have a decent fan base for a starter band. As I write this introduction, I haven't even dived in yet. I'm kind of excited, to be honest. The metal that encompasses "Gothenburg Metal" is my jam! The EP runs at just over five minutes, with two songs.
After having listened for some time, I conclude they are pretty decent. With a rather well put together sound. Coming in hot with some strong guitar solos, and very good vocals. As far as I'm concerned based off of this EP, RITUALS can do no wrong! I can definitely see this as something I would listen to again as well. Let's digress, shall we! "Insect" - Dives right in with a solid beat! I must say, Pierre has and incredible voice. Strong, encompassing that smooth bodied growliness so well. Well played guitar, with tremolo plucking throughout. This song captivates you and holds your attention to the end.
"Oracle" - Melodic entry notes on guitar, with an old school progressive type sound mixed in there. This song is also boasting lush guitar solos, a favorite of mine. This song has great movement to it. It all just flows well together. It does not sound like a bands second EP, more it sounds like a well-polished piece put together by a professional band. In conclusion, definitely check "Invicta" out. RITUALS is sure to become a fast favorite of yours too. I am very much looking forward to seeing what these guys produce next time. If it only goes up from here, it going to be awfully amazing! I am going to grant the rare, highest score I can. Definitely ten's all around!! Rock on my metal friends!!!
