BLACKBALLED are a 3 piece outfit from Manchester, England. They have released the new album "Elephant In The Room" on 25th July 2020 under Metalville Records. The band now have 3 albums & 2 EP's to their credit. BLACKBALLED were formed back in 2012 & have been steadily releasing albums & EP's along the way, so 2020's "Elephant In The Room" has come in good timing for the fans. The album feature 10 brand new song to get stuck into. This is a band who have a Blues Rock kinda feel to them as well as being a touch psychedelic. They have a great sound to them & I'm enjoying the album so far.

So to open the new album "Elephant In The Room" we have song numero uno "When The Devil Calls." This song gives us a feel for the entire album & you can feel the Bluesy Rock vibes of the band. This song has some sweet guitar riffs in it, not to mention the instrumental section of the song being played to a climax of strings & well timed drum beats. The vocals are crisp & clearly sung in just the right cadence.

Song number 3 is the title track on the new album. "Elephant In The Room," which opens with some nodding beats & head bopping strums. It's a song that's easy to get carried away with. The lyrics are really quite catchy & I find myself taking in the words & the music as it plays over & over on my computer, yes I have now listened to this album 3 times & I'm not board yet!

Onto song number 6 on "Elephant In The Room," which is called "Flesh & Bone." This one opens with a slow tempo & is quite the softer side of BLACKBALLED, showing they have a really mellow side to them. It's the kind of song you want to listen to when your curled up in front of an open coal fire on a dark starry night with a cup of hot chocolate. It's quite a soothing song to listen to musically. Lyrically it's a bit of a tear jerker.

Moving on to song number 8 we have "Break These Chains." This is quite an upbeat song, it has that Bluesy feel to it, which suits it to a T. The guitar riffs are played well & the vocals fit like a glove on top of the strings & drums. This song has an awesome instrumental in it which makes me nod my head in time to the rhythm of the music. It's a song that gives you great visualisations of getting out of a struggle or being in a situation you need to "break the chains of" to escape whether it be a physical place or an emotional state of being.

Closing the album "Elephant In The Room" is song number 10 "Mother Earth." This one starts off with some heavy riffs & accompanied by some light beats, not too heavy, just the right amount of drumming to match up with the guitar & bass. Then the vocals kick in & the whole song suddenly comes to life. This song is an epic outro to end a fantastic album. Its lyrically fun & musically the rhythm is such that it captivates you as you listen, you can imagine all sorts of things as the music just takes you away some place mystical & magical. The instrumental ending is the most fantastic way the band could have ended the song & indeed the album.

Overall I have immensely enjoyed "Elephant In The Room" so much so that I have just stuck it on repeat & let it play over & over. It's 7.13am & I honestly put it on for the first time at 5.50am so you can imagine how much I'm enjoying it! So why not get the album turned on & turned up on your phone, tablet, p.c or whatever you stream on & give the album a listen, I guarantee you won't be disappointed!
