DAYLIGHT MISERY is a pretty new band that I got to know through a press release! When I read about these guys I immediately paid a visit to their Myspace page to see what they are all about. What I faced was not exactly what I expected, since the members this band features prepared me for something more brutal, but who cares?

The band was formed only last year, when Kordas and Mazaris came together for the creation of this project. In just one year, the band completed its line up and entered Grindhouse Studio to record this 3 track promo with the help of George Bokos (ROTTING CHRIST).

To tell you the truth, this Death/Doom Metal kind of music is not really my cup of tea, but this band surely manages to create a melancholic, dark and interesting wall of sounds that travel you to your deepest fears. Slow and heavy guitars, with brutal vocals (that to be honest need some slight improvement), simple, almost nihilistic drumming by the one and only Seraph (DARK FORTRESS) and a guest appearance by NIGHTFALL's Efthimis Karadimas that brings many memories...

A great appetizer for what is about to follow by this band, and I am damn sure that people who are into this kind of sound will be already waiting for DAYLIGHT MISERY's first full-length step. The album is scheduled for a November 2009 release, so the only thing we can do is wait and see...
