Hot. Heavy. Naughty. Take a good look at the cover art. My supernaughty mind suggests something of a libertine nature utilizing less traveled orifices of the mind .. yea, that's it.  "Temple" is the 2nd album busted out by old-school 4-piece heavy rockers SUPERNAUGHTY (2014) who are located on the coastal shores of lovely Livorno, Italy.  Their music combines elements of grunge and of the stoner - and dig it mates, their debut EP is called "Welcome to my V" ... now that is class a fellow Flying V aficionado such as my self can appreciate ... well, if the V they refer to is in fact a guitar...hmmm. Either way, let's sink into the "Temple" pink ...

Lead off track 'The Way I Wish to Die' deals us a dirtnap that digs up MOTÖRHEAD intensity while burying Lemmy's lambasting vocal style for Angelo Fagni's blue sky crooning that evokes Chris Cornell and his heavy metal bray ... Here comes the Biogrinder, oh it'll never stop ... 'Biogrinder' likewise kibbles rock urgency that seams a slick melodic guitar riff to Angelo's fine singing. This is a cool song. ... I see only you ... 'Hellboar' is a rip-snorter that brings out the pig then dices it up "Apocalypse Now" style letting the evil spirits out to cavort among the natives before Filippo pulls off a final slippery guitar lead.

You're walking through the darkened hole... 'Warehouse Demon', an ode to a Walmart-ish hell grinds into gear with Luca Raffoni slinging a super fuzz bass to start then proceeds with the octave hopscotch riffing which the lads rely on a bit too much on this release, but the song does manage a slapping groove with a tasty little guitar lead. 'Plug' trembles and scrapes like a hurricane beat down with an earthquake twist then lurches into a heavy metal grind. Alessio Franceschi's drum tracks have a tone that somehow manage to surface through the flat underwater mix of "Temple"; he gets a gold star for a memorable trap snare drum timbre and a dedicated performance. Well done, Comrade.

'Temple' is the hot lead single and it is about here that the warbling watery vocal effect on Angelo's voice that appears on most every song starts to tire my ears, there simply is not enough sonic space made for the effected vocal to slot into a frequency band to render it intelligible and appealing - a shame as I like his voice. 'Here Come the Argonauts' has a few fleeting Jimmy Page moments courtesy of the guitar performance by Filippo Del Bimbo. "Temple" is a worthwhile effort that starts strong then runs itself out of steam with a squashed mix and flat mastering effort. Me thinks a bit more time in the pre-production chalet is in order to suss out the sound. The cover art is first rate...Supernaughty! You twist and turn like a twisty turny thing. I say you're a weedy pigeon, Blackadder, and you can call me the dani bandolier Spotify playlist if it isn't so...
