"We'll tear you walls down," perhaps one of the most memorable lines of lyric in recent years and certainly a great representation of the rage fueled and eternally energetic band that is, KATAPULT. Having just now unleashed unto the world their debut single dubbed, "A Fistful Of Truth," the band has laid out their will and intentions through their cacophonous and cathartic EP.

"Siege, Destroy, Annihilate" commences the track collection with the aforementioned lyrics commanding attention throughout the course of the song, though that in itself does little to describe the intensity of the track as a whole being the construct of heavy Thrash influences. "P.R.O.F.I.T." is a bit slower and melodious though still consists of those energetic and relentless deliveries whereupon each instrument feels that they're ready to leap out of the speakers and straight into your ears. The title track, "A Fistful Of Truth" is one of those tracks that will continue on in your head long after the song has finished and you've gone about your day; the intensity and energy of the music is felt mostly through the drums in this composition though the unabated drive of the guitars certainly can never be overlooked. It's a matter both visceral and charming when bands decide to create compositions in deference to the schools of philosophy and moral dilemmas, there's always an eerie and eldritch attraction that these songs possess and "L'Appel Du Vide" is certainly a great example in these regards. The phenomenon affects everyone at some level of consciousness and to see it condensed and explicated so succinctly creates a disturbing and bittersweet sense of resolve and apprehension.

The multitude of different musicians on this album cannot in part be understated as the sheer amount for the collection of songs is something of odds and intrigue especially in reference to the condition of their being 3 separate drummers for the duration of the EP. However in reference, or deference, to strictly the music the condition of the instruments and the ability of their performances thereon is a great sound. The bass is tight and self-contained, a bit on the lower end volume wise but filling in that niche where it's needed most without conflicting with any other instrument or voicing; the drums do have a noticeable difference in attack and feel from song to song where some tracks feel more laid back and others have the tonal sensation of being tighter and gripping, nothing that would lead to indifference or disdain for the band, but a noticeable difference nonetheless; the guitars, heavy and loud, sit well in their niche spot providing headbanging riffs and wrenching solos; the vocals are in-your-face, loud, and unapologetic a perfect mix for the music and memorable without contest.

Having never heard the band prior I walked away impressed with their endeavors and am now eager for anything and everything that would come from them as whatever is to follow could only be something greater. For anyone with any interest or love for Thrash then, "A Fistful Of Truth," is a no-brainer to add to your collection.
