The Space Octopus - Tomorrow We'll Be Gone album cover

THE SPACE OCTOPUS are a 3 man band from Bilbao, Spain who bring us the brand new album "Tomorrow We'll Be Gone" which is due for release on May 29th 2020 under Art Gates Records. The band have previous albums but this is the first album I have heard by the band, I have to say I will be checking out their earlier material when I'm finished with this review as I'm really enjoying THE SPACE OCTOPUS's sound! They are a band who have put together an album that is high quality both musically & lyrically. This is THE SPACE OCTOPUS's 5th studio album to date. And gives new fans like myself a good back catalogue of albums to get stuck into, so if like me your new to the band I suggest you do the same & check out the bands new album in 4 days and while you wait check out the previous 4 albums.

So to delve into the new album "Tomorrow We'll Be Gone" a bit I will talk about a few of the 11 new songs coming on the 29th May 2020. Opening the new album is the song "Go On." The song opens with a tingle of guitar joined by the sweet bass & is quickly thrown into a fairly heavy mixture of harmony as it all comes together. The music is Heavy Metal heaven as the instrumental part shows. Lyrically the song has depth & emotion. Song number 4 on the album is the title track "Tomorrow We'll Be Gone," which plays in at 3 minutes and 37 seconds. It's a song that opens with a bit of synth, guitar & drums. A catchy song & high point of the album I'd reference. Another highlight of the album for me is song number 6 "Only The Brightest Stars," It's a song that captivates the imagination with images of lost souls who become the brightest stars and they are the ones your eyes are drawn to on a dark night. Song number 8 is called "Paralyzed" and it opens with a soft tempo and light music. This song is so chilled in sound it's coming out the freezer holding an ice lolly! I really like the depth of the lyrics with such a chilled vibe for the music, it's a fantastic contrasting combination. The peak of the song comes in the mid section instrumental. I actually think I've decided this is my favourite song off the entire album. Closing the album we have "React." A song with spirit & sacrifice gone by. I enjoyed the backing singers complimenting the main vocals in this song, a treat for the senses.

Overall I have enjoyed the new album "Tomorrow We'll Be Gone" by THE SPACE OCTOPUS. Fans new and old of the band are in for a treat when the album is released on Friday & I will be one of those who wants to buy a copy when the shops reopen! My advice is check out the album on Fri 29th May 2020 & get yourself tuned in, I guarantee you will not be disappointed! I have every intention of checking out the bands previous works & following their future albums too. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to & reviewing THE SPACE OCTOPUS's "Tomorrow We'll Be Gone" and hope I will soon learn the lyrics to sing along!
