Laci Violett
Laci Violett
On February 29th 2020, the leap year date, LACI VIOLETT released their self titled album "Laci Violett" for the fans. The new album has 9 songs of Glam Metal for us to jump into. LACI VIOLETT are a Glam Metal band who hail from San Francisco, California. The 2 man band bring us Glam & Hair Metal at it's finest. They have put together a cracking album & if your a fan of the band I suggest you get this album turned on & turned up! If you haven't heard of the new band then I suggest you get a listen now! The band have some interesting bios on their website, which I will quote for your entrainment. About Lizzy Lace "He attempted to break the world record for longest bass solo and tallest shredfest at the same time by performing from the Statue of Liberty's torch and was arrested for bringing hand sanitizer on an airplane." And about Eddie Bane I quote, "Eddie Bane's musical endeavour began when he joined Central California's Faith & Bullets in 2016. During his run with the band, he opened for acts such as Ratt's Juan Croucier, Hurricane, Sebastian Bach, L.A. Guns, and Faster Pussycat." The band certainly having caught my eye!
The Glam/Hair Metal album has 9 song that kick ass! Opening the album we have the song "Hairspray Running Low," which opens with the sound of someone walking & spraying hairspray, followed by the joining of the guitars and drums. The lyrics are sung with powerful screams in places & are quite funny when you listen to them. I really am enjoying the album so onto song number 3 "S.E.X Life." It's a song which opens with a chant of "S E X, S E X, S E X, S E X, S E X, SEX!" Give you a guess what this songs about. This song is self explanatory lol. The guitar riffs are played exponentially during the instrumentals in this song. Next we have "Make The Volume Loud" which is good advice for this entire album. The song has some musical high points to listen out for. Onto song number 6 "Ring The Bell" which is quite short at 2 minutes 45 seconds but is packed with that great Glam feel & the line "ring the liberty bell" which is quite ironic considering Lizzy's shenanigans! Jumping to song number 8 "Left For Dead," we hear the fire in Lizzy's voice as he sings the lyrics. It's a bit of a sad song lyrically but the music & vocals make it a song that pounces. To close the album, we have song number 9 "Outro" which is rather different from most of the other songs on the album, it's played musically deeply, no lyrics to hear, but it's a piece of music that sounds like it's crawling deep inside your soul from some unknown dark place, I love it! Short & sweet & a smooth way to close the album.
LACI VIOLETT have put together a great debut self titled album to open & build a fanbase on! The album has been put together really well lyrically is good, musically it's great! In future albums, I'd like to hear more variety lyrically, but I'd keep on the same track musically as they play Glam great! Overall I have really enjoyed the album & have in fact played it twice while writing my review as once just didn't seem enough. I would recommend if your a fan of Glam Metal or Hair Metal then you get a listen as your in for a treat! The album is absoloutley on point & shows promise of future albums being brought to us by Glam Gods! Highly recommmeneded!
