League of Corruption - Something In the Water album cover

LEAGUE OF CORRUPTION is a Groove Metal band from Vancouver that will make you drink a lot of beer and get wild. They have recently released their newest album "Something In the Water" and that's what we are going to talk about.

The opening song from the album is "Leave Me Be" and it starts out with a pretty nice guitar riff that creates a cool ambiance alongside the bass and drums. The vocals are aggressive and reminded me of a lumberjack kind of sound. They perfectly fit the song. One of the highlights from the song is the chorus that is incredible awesome and that you will be singing it anywhere... just like me.

"Not Your Friend" starts out with a cool guitar riff and some pinch harmonics here and there. The vocals are still great and it's a different tone... I liked how it sounds. There's a sound that comes from the drums that feels it's a little bit "unmixed" but it doesn't bother at all. The bridge before the guitar solo reminded me of IRON MAIDEN and I enjoyed the solo and the wah-wah uses on it as well.

"Save The Church" starts out with a nice drumming followed by some heavy guitar riffs that will make you prepare yourself for the powerful sound that is coming. Fuck man... what a great sequence of riffs. The drums sound better here and that's something cool. This song is a little bit more direct than the previous ones, including the chorus. It feels like a "going war" song.

"Something in the Water" is the song that gave its name to the album and it starts out with a pretty good guitar riff followed by some massive bass and drum work. There's a guitar melody that helped shape the ambiance. This song is kind of epic and progressive and it grows slowly and that was cool. We have some nice drum work here and I'm sure that it sounds killer as fuck live. Great stuff.

"Want Me Gone" starts out with a nice drum work that is completed by the bass groove while the guitar gently plays its melodies. This song is kind of epic and the chorus is fuckin' cool. Here you have a guitar solo that reminded me of ZAKK WYLDE and that's a great thing. Such a nice song. "Wheres Your Savior Now" is the song that closes the album and it starts out with some nice guitar work that will blow your mind. Everything here is pretty badass from the drums to the vocals, all really tight and the ambiance is just awesome. Man.. such a good release.

LEAGUE OF CORRUPTION have written and released a great Groove Metal album with a lot of guitars, bass, drums and vocals that are well tied together. The instruments were well played, the vocals well sang and the production is nice too. Nice stuff.
