Now in their 10th year, KILL RITUAL, retains their roots with their latest release the Thrash laden "The Opaque And The Divine," albeit with a new singer. Containing the pure substance of uninhibited triumph, it's near impossible not to head bang at the captivating strike of each beat coupled with the guitars' accentuations.

"Rest In Pain" commences the track listing and with a grandiose build up that sheds the phaser prelude in favor of pure overdriven guitars; the song is wholly a powerful beast that moves in and out of modulations in great form and fashion never destroying the immersion or progression despite all the heavy changes. "King Of Fools" is one of the coolest sounding Thrash Riffs I've ever heard, equal parts intricate and heavy the song manages to showcase the melodic, heavy, and fast elements of the genre all under the same roof. That which is the longest song upon the album, "Veil Of The Betrayer," commences with what I can only describe as a demented wedding march whereupon the band joins in part as the symphonic movement continues on in the background, after a bit of build up a killer solo segues the rest of the song. The final song upon the album, "A Child To Die For Again," contains acoustics, woodwinds, and of course a Thrash Metal band, the way that the overdriven guitar intertwines with the acoustic progression is a feat of mastery as anybody who's worked in a studio knows the difficulty of blending the two together.

Fun fact the guitarist, Steve Rice, is also the guitarist and one of the founding members to the band, IMAGIKA, and his instrument prowess shows through on every single track within the album. In reference to the instruments the mix is near perfection where within the walls of the soundscape each instrument truly feels that it was recorded only after finding its respective perfect tone. The guitars are laden over the bass yet neither supersede or overtake one another due to the expert separation in tone; the drums are powerful, booming, and provide an incredibly warm sound; the vocals are a beast in their own right, whilst not technically impressive they're powerful and delivered without mercy.

"The Opaque And The Divine" took me by surprise which is not an easy task, the grandeur of the instruments culminate into a powerful build completely independent of being ascribed a similar sound or a directed influence; each note and beat is laden with certainty and intent which serves in crafting a distinct and irrefutable identity, such that the greatest talents of the band from the realms of performance to compositional abilities are showcased and appreciated to great and exacting extents. By closing your eyes, you are given the sensation of seeing the band live, which is an ability that very few albums possess.
