Devil Sold His Soul - Darkness Prevails album cover

I had the chance to get to know DEVIL SOLD HIS SOUL's music, when the band's label sent me their debut album A Fragile Hope for a review. One year later, the UK based metallers return with one more release. No, it is not a new album this time. This time it is a way to prove that even if you are full of energy and strength, a CD can absorb your power and make you fall asleep on the keyboard.

Since a DEVIL SOLD HIS SOUL release has already been featured in Metal Temple, I believe there is no need to write any info about them. The only information you will need is about this release. The album was originally released in 2006 as an EP. The band decided to re-release it with some bonus goodies, but I really can't see the reason in such a move by their label.

Musically, this EP has nothing that will amaze you. The music is a mix between Metalcore, Post Hardcore and Sludge. This is the first step of this very ambitious band, and the step that led them to the signing of a contract with Eyes Of Sound Records. This re-release features demos, remixes and video goodies that will definitely please the band's fans. And believe me, what I said above is absolutely true. Every time I listened to this EP I was getting sleepy. I don't know how, but this band has managed to create the perfect lullaby for me.

So, what can I say now? I believe that this re-release is a pointless move, plus I don't like the band's music. I had a real problem about what to write in here, but I just said my opinion. I believe that fans of this kind of sound will probably like Darkness Prevails, but it definitely can't be compared to the titans of this scene.
