PINK CIGS is a Heavy/Rock band that are truly inspired by the 70's kind of sound and they can write songs like if they were living back in the 70's. They have recently released their newest album "Ping Cigs" and thats what we are going to talk about.

The opening song from the album is "Noose" and it starts out with a groovy guitar sound played by one guitar, but then the second guitar comes in and the drums and bass as well. It has a cool groove and the drums are pretty 70's kind of sound. The vocals are Strong and they sound different in a good way. The vocal lines from the stanzas are good and there's a lot of drumming on the chorus and after it the guitar solo is pretty much all about Rock N' Roll.

"Low Blow" starts out with a heavy and aggressive guitar riff that will make you feel pretty metal. I like how the guitars dual sound on this song and it reminded me of early IRON MAIDEN albums such as Iron Maiden and Killers. "Lazy Lover" have nothing of lazy and its a pretty fast song with fast vocal lines, drums and bass and also the guitar riffs. This song just comes in, wiping off everything on its way. I liked how the guitar solo sound on this one and how they put it on a soft sound and then they just speed up again with some pretty fuckin' 70's kind of shred.

"Nightstalker" starts out with a good and groovy guita riff that is followed by the drums and bass. The vocals here are pretty different from the previous song and they sound in a higher tone, not so low or médium as the previous songs. Its a good way to show that they can fit different vocals on their songs and still sound good. The solo here reminded me of a pure bluesy kind of ambiance and I think its a really good one. There's a long guitar work here and I liked it.

"Leecher" starts out with some cool guitar riffs that reminded me of BLACK SABBATH and the vocal lines as well. Well, its a heavy song with lots of good ingredientes here. "Shiver" and "Dirty Trick" are two great songs that fits each ther perfectly and surely have their place on the album. They are both aggressive and have tons of great guitar work and solos, also good stuff coming from the bass, drums and vocals as well.

"Whiskey Woman" starts out with a different dynamics if compared to the previous songs, with a good drumming on the beginning and some cool guitar riffs as well. "Devil's Grip" follows the same line from the previous song and there's tons of good work here. "Black Widow" is the song that closes the album and its pretty aggressive and totally 70's vibe. They really focused on the guitar sound and bass n' drums here, its pretty good. I like the vocals here as they are different and I believe that fits better than the other one on that song.

PINK CIGS have written and released a good Heavy/Hard album and will definitely please the fans of the band and genre. Well, they should have used more the higher vocals as I believe they would definitely achieve something a little bit different here. Its a good album, but after some songs it starts to get repetitive, but still good. The guitars were really well played, the bass is cool and the drums were good, but sometimes it sounded a little bit weird to me. The mixing was okay.
