INGRIMM is a Folk Metal band with Pagan influences that comes from the southern lands of Germany. These guys have a long career on the Pagan scenario and I must say that they are one of the most important german bands from the genre. Well, I must say that they have recently released their newest album "Auf Gedeih und Verderb" and thats what we are going to talk about.

The opening song from the album is "Himmel und Hölle" and it starts out with a great european folk sound and its soon joined by heavy guitar riffs, fast drums and bass and the first lines from the vocals. This song has a little bit of Melodic Death Metal taste when it comes to the guitars and the chorus is really catchy, even if you are not a german speaker you will be probably singing it.

"Klang von Leder" starts out with a more heavy riff and even a few blast-beats here and there. I liked how they added the folk melodies on the chorus and some parts from the stanzas, as it mixed up perfectly with the aggressivess that this song has and the groovy riffs. Theres one part where the folk seems to be heavily influenced by the arabic music, which was kind of cool.

"Albtraum" starts out with a really folk vibe and it has fast guitar riffs mixed up. The drums here are really good and it showed the drummers ability in a very good well. I loved how the guitar riffs sounds here. I loved how they mixed up guttural vocals with the clean ones on the song and the guitar work here is astonishing so is the bass. There's a great folkish solo before the last chorus and it will kick your ass.

"König der Idioten" starts out with beautiful clean guitar sound and a great bass as well. Its a really inspiring song with beautiful melodies created by the folk instruments, vocals and later on the guitars with distortion that were added here. "Glück in Sicht" reminded me of ELUVEITIE and thats good. I loved the vocals here, they sounded pretty badass and fitted perfectly to the instrumental. They mixed up guttural vocals, clean vocals, hurdy-gurdy, clean guitars, distorted guitars and created a fuckin' great folk song.

"Sturm und Drang" starts out with a Thrash Metal riff mixed up with the folk influences and it sounded great. "Drachenritt" starts out with beautiful clean guitar tone and some violins, but its soon joined by heavy guitar riffs and this song has a great guitar tone. "Ich bin ein Mann" starts out with a chaotic guitar riff and bass n' drums sound as well. The highlight goes to the end of the song where it reminded me of the Scotland and great drinks on a sunny day up the hills.

"Schalk im Nacken" and "Mammon" are great songs and they kept the albums idea and great sound. "Der Schinder" is probably the most different song on the whole album, it has a different ambiance and it sounds epic as well. "Schuldig oder nicht" is the song that closes the album and it will make you feel a very folkish vibe. It has great melodies created by the hurdy-gurdy and the bass lines here are great and heavy. I liked how they have a more melodic and calm part in the middle of the chaotic heavyness.

INGRIMM knows how to write and record a Folk Metal album, because they did it once again. Its a great album that will please all the Folk, Viking and Pagan metallers out there and I wish all the best to these guys.
