It has been a long time since I last came across a good Hardcore release. DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR should be a well-known name to people who have dived a bit deeper into Hardcore music. So, Friends Family Forever is in my hands and needs to be reviewed. Let's not waste time and get on with it...

I really don't know when they were formed but if I am not mistaken, they are not an old band. Let me make something clear, this is a re-release. I just said that because you may be confused with the Hardcore release I said above. Anyway, this EP is re-released with two songs from their split 7 with BLACK FRIDAY 29, one unreleased song and five songs from a live set in the famous Hardcore club CBGB's. I have only mentioned the live songs as bonus tracks since I can't find which are the others, not even in the label's site!

Anyway, DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR is a band that represents what Hardcore music is all about, raw power, honesty, pride and respect. They seem to have evolved a bit since they used to be a HATEBREED clone. They seem to have found their identity as a band and their sound has become more mature. You see, this band has toured with acts like FULL BLOWN CHAOS, TERROR, MADBALL and AGNOSTIC FRONT. It is more than obvious that these guys are not amateurs. In Friends Family Forever, you can listen to the classic heavy and low tuned Hardcore that knocks you out with its incredible power. Incredibly solid rhythm section and fucking awesome grooves that will make you want to headbang until the end of this CD. The live tracks show that these guys kill on stage but the sound is not as good as it should be. Not bad, but not good. There is also a guest appearance by DEATH THREAT's Aaron Knuckles in the track 6.6.6. Friends Family Forever.

As you can see, we are talking about a very good CD that will be more than a decorative object in your collection. My advice, go get it guys! I am sure that you will love it. A message to all the non-Hardcore fans out there, STAY AWAY FROM IT!!!
