Why do I have to do all the dirty work? Ok, I'm the youngest person in here but that doesn't mean anything! Being an editor is a bad thing! You have to listen to things that nobody else would even consider listening! You lucky bastards! You buy what you like! We review every single CD we get! No more Dissimulation!
So, these dudes come from Lithuania. Don't ask me about that! They must be the first band from this country that I ever happen to listen to. Anyway, Prakeikimas means damnation, that's what I found out (not that I was interested in seeing what the definition was). They debuted in 1997 with a Demo tape called Juodo Menulio Pasveikinta. Their first full-length album, Maras, was released in 2002 via Ledo Takas and now, this is their second attempt to achieve something in the Metal scene.
So, Dissimulation belongs to the kind of bands that get stuck in mediocrity. Seven common Black/Thrash Metal tracks that didn't manage to attract my attention or at least keep me a bit interested. I listened to the album two times and I got bored! The intro is taken from The Atomic Bomb Movie documentary. When I first listened to it, I listened to the classic music and I was ready to face a fast and furious band. Shit! The first track that follows the intro starts with a riff that could have been written by the Smurfs (if they played Black/Thrash Metal)!!! Nevermind, the lyrics are all written in their native language, something that - in my humble opinion - makes the album less interesting. The production is nice indeed, but that doesn't seem to make things better. If you like bands like Necrodeath, you may like this band or even listen to them without getting bored. I'd like to add the big duration of some tracks that makes you think that they'll never end! It's like some Chinese torture method!
I don't think you would like to spend your money on this album. If you have some spare money, spend it somewhere else. Not on Prakeikimas for sure! If you have already bought it, you're doomed!
