Hailing from Quebec (originaire du Québec) WARSENAL now on their seventh year is releasing their sophomore album entitled "Feast Your Eyes." Staying true to their roots WARSENAL has remained unchanged in their pursuits and sound if not even faster and more aggressive than their preceding album.

"Forever Lost" is the track which commences the album, an ambitious prelude quickly ascends to a Punk-esque progression very near similar to something that might have come from GBH before the progression changes signally the start of the verse; the song is composed around multiple changes in tempo and starts over wearing into a completely different progression around the 3 minute mark before returning to the Speed Metal type of riff previous in the song. "I Am The Blade" starts immediately as its predecessor ends opening with a powerful bass line that the guitar and drums soon accompany before changing form and shape into more of a Thrash progression.

The creativeness of the compositions is the strongest point of the record, bearing songs that are essentially mini-opuses of which a few could have been drawn out to full on rhapsodies-though I'm certain that was never the intent in writing those-such as "You Better Run" and "Burning Ships." The album's namesake, "Feast Your Eyes" features an incredible amount of riff changes from every instrument, from a direct classic Thrash delivery to a near anthemic beat near the center of the song, though their strength is also a weakness in certain circles as with so many rotating parts it proves difficult for a full song to stand out as memorable.

The guitars are crunch and full, coupled with being high where they need to, such as with the lead riffs and higher melodies; the bass is rich, full, and relentless constantly shifting notes from string to string on impressive and inane runs like someone put some Phil Lynott bass lines at 78 RPM; the drums both fill in the space left absent by the strings and color in with their own blend of textured patterns; the vocals are gritty and to the point, just as they should be for the music type.

The album as a whole is an odd amalgamation of tempo changes, piercing aggression, and technical prowess-each member is the master of their own craft and uses their aptitude to build upon one another and create miniature epics. Fans of the band will find great joy in "Feast Your Eyes" as its attitude is unchanged from its predecessor, its sound more finely crafted, and serves as evident proof that the band only continues to grow. For those who have never before heard WARSENAL it takes a minute to get used to all the changes and intermixed motifs and whilst that might put off some people its sure to attract devoted fans.
