Alisha Rawling - She's Out Of Control album cover

ALISHA RAWLING is an Aussie musician that started its career in 2010. The cool thing is that it's a one-girl-band as she writes and records all the instruments and lyrics. The project just released its second studio album "She's Out Of Control" and that's what we are going to talk about.

The first song is "Intro" and it's has street sounds with a police siren in the background. The next song "She's Out Of Control" is the one that gave its name to the album and I must say that I find it a little bit confusing and sometimes and there's a weird noisy in the background... like a mic sound. "Decapitated Soul" made me feel a little bit uncomfortable with the guitar sound and the voice mix. The guitars sound weird, but I guess it's how she wanted to sound like. Well, "I'm Going To Take You" is the next song and so far, it's the one that sounds more messed up to me. There's a strange guitar string sound on the background, but the drums here were better played than the previous songs though.

"Abomination" sounds like a bad guitar playing and it's impossible to get what the riff sounds like. The drums and vocals are the highlights here. In the end there's something that was supposed to sound like a guitar solo? Let's check the "Descent Of Hagarah", the mix here sounds different from the previous songs and it reminded me of some old Black Metal from the Norwegian scene. The vocals here were better singing and more elaborated than the previous songs, I think that she found vocals on this one. They are good. Can't you see "Her Drowning" is the next song and the guitars started to sound like a mess and I definitely can't understand any of the riffs on this song. It's sounds pretty weird to me...

The song that closes the album is "Fit" and it starts out sounding like a Black Metal song from the 90's. I think that she could focus on this kind of sounds, as the guitars are more well played here and so the vocals, bass and drums were better executed. This song kind of feels more energetic and Rock N' Roll as well.

Well, I must say that I find most of the songs badly executed, the guitars are messed up and for me, most of the time it was just noises. The mixing and mastering has affected the whole experience on this album, sometimes the vocals sounds like there was someone putting its hands on the mic. I think that she has potential, but the execution of each instruments should be better, specially the guitars and the production as well. I hope she is fine and release songs with all her potential.
