KINOATH is a band from Australia that just released their newest album "Whatever You Want" and that's what we are going to talk about.
The opening song from the album is "Room 7" and it starts with a cool ambiance created by the bass and drums. The song grows slowly as the guitars are added and its kind of epic. The first riff of the song reminded me of IRON MAIDEN and I think that it's pretty cool. There's a great guitar work on this one. The vocals are aggressive and its pure Heavy Metal. Do you want to know what I have "In My Past"? Well, this song starts with a cool guitar riff and nice bass n' drum work. The riffs are kind of groovy and you will start banging your head as soon as they start to sound. It's a very energetic song. I liked the vocal lines from the chorus and the work they did on the stanzas as well.
The next song is the track that gave its name to the album "Whatever You Want" starts with a cool clean guitar sound followed by some drums, until the heaviness takes control and the heavy guitar riffs, bass and drums hit you. There's a very cool guitar work here as well and the vocals are aggressive in a way that contrasts well with the instrumental parts. There's a narration voice right before the chorus, which gave the song a different ambiance. "The Grip" starts in a killer way and reminded me of something from the 80's kind of sound. They manage to create a cool ambiance and good people; you guys will bang your head. It could easily be something from OZZY OSBOURNE. The vocal lines from the chorus have this Hard Rock ambiance.
The next song was "Driven" by... well, it starts out with a very nice guitar riff and drums. I must say that it's a very funny and different song. There's a use of wah-wah pedal effect here that gave the song a different ambiance and the vocals are a little bit different from the previous songs in my opinion, which was good because they gave the song a new vibe. There's a cool guitar duet solo part as well, which is really nice. The song that finishes the album is "In Sanity" and it starts out with clean guitar sounds and a drum work that is has the feel of Mr. Nicko Mcbrain from IRON MAIDEN. Actually, this song sounds like a tribute to the English band and it's a really nice song to finish a cool work.
KINOATH has released and written a good record. I think they have a lot of potential and that they will develop their own style even better from now on. The execution of each instrument was really good and the production was okay. They have a bright future ahead of them and I hope they tour a lot.
