Insomnia
Deinonychus

I was so impatient to hear this album. Finally I've got it right here in my hands. Night falls and here I am all alone, in my dark room with the only light being that of a few candles, preparing to sink into melancholy and depression... into the atmosphere of Deinonychus. And believe me the report of Insomnia is very efficacious.
Previously known as Malefic Oath , they changed their name to Deinonychus in 1993. Their debut album, The Silence Of December, arrived in May of 1994. In 1998 Kehren would become a session lead vocalist in the German group Bethlehem appearing on the S.U.I.Z.I.D. and Reflektionen Auf's Sterben albums, released in April and June of the same year. Steve Wolz is also the drummer of Bethlehem. Deinonychus actually operate as a solo project of Marco Kehren , previously known as Odin. Insomnia was recorded and mixed at The Outer Sound Studios in Rome, Italy.
There are five songs on this release and each one of these songs lasts about ten minutes. Five lengthy and desperately slow songs with dreadful vocals, idle riffs and some melodic-grieving synths. Melancholy, depression, despair and all the sensations of sorrow and disappointment fill your soul during the entire album. Even though Deinonychus are so simple, they manage to induct you into a doom and melancholic atmosphere in a magnificent way.
Only for those who likes the music of My Dying Bride , Katatonia etc. The rest don't need to invest here. Music for... funerals to come...
