Rraaumm - The Eternal Dance At The Nucleus of Time album cover

The Atmospheric Black Metal one-man project RRAAUMM is the side project of MK of the German Black Metal band HÄXENZIJRKELL. It holds to the ethos and aesthetic of Black Metal in the sense that the production is lo-fi, but not so lo-fi that you aren't able to follow the melody and the instruments. I would describe this EP as in line with the Japanese term wabi-sabi, which loosely means that which is perfect because it is imperfect. Is everything on this EP recorded perfectly? No, but that doesn't mean that it's not worth listening to and getting lost in each track.

"The Eternal Dance At The Nucleus of Time" gives the vibes of a quality horror movie, where you're more scared about what you don't see rather than what you see. The vocals aren't able to be understood, but they sound like the unearthly cry of some monster or demon in all the right ways without coming off as a low-budget slasher that's almost ridiculous. Rather than making the focus of Satan and the typical subject matter of Black Metal, the focus is more about the vastness of the abyss of the universe and the terrors that could dwell within it.

Overall, this is a very satisfying EP to listen to because each song tells its own story without coming off as repetitive or boring. This EP will make the hairs on your arms stand up by taking you into the abyss, and you can't help but go along that dark journey. In regards to rating this album, I'll give it the appropriate ratings based on how well it lines up with how good lo-fi Atmospheric Black Metal should sound, and for what it is, it's put together with excellence. Should you choose to venture on the journey that this EP provides, beware of what horrors you may encounter, dear listener. And yes, as always, BUY THIS EP!!!
