After releasing 6 albums worth of music between 2011 and 2015 that was recorded between 2009 and 2012, SACRILEGE is back with their first original music since the reforming of the band in 2012. They were inactive from 1987 to 2012 but the founder of the band (and lead singer) Bill Beadle continued to record music on his own. Back in the day they were a big part of the second wave of New Wave of British Heavy Metal, standing side by side with some of the unsung heroes of the genre. They may have been important back then but they fell into obscurity rather quickly and there is a good reason, they weren't good enough. They couldn't keep up with the quality of what the genre was bringing.

I don't know why they came back but I felt they should have stayed in the past unfortunately. The overall quality of production is lacking, I felt it was a bit disorganized at best. The vocals seemed to have been mixed in poorly with the rest of the band unfortunately. Also, the vocals of the singer, he obviously still has some range, seem to be out of step with the rest of the music. Sometimes you can't hear him properly like he was in another room, it was a poor decision and it really hurts the overall quality of the album.

This is standard NWOBHM, nothing really stands out, all songs seem to have the same formula and if you heard one song, you heard all of them. Musically, it's not that bad, you can't see the potential of the band members but overall, the album lacks the memorability you usually associate with bands of this genre.

I really tried to enjoy this album, I really tried to like but it's not up to snuff. I just really hated this album and I haven't hated an album I reviewed in a long time. It's always hard to give a bad review but sometimes you gotta say what you feel did down inside when you listen to an album. You have to be true to yourself and that's all I am about.
