"Heavy Metal Macht" is that kind of a throwback fashioned EP that will remind you of the glorious era of Speed Metal and Hard Rock. It has riffs that will remind you of IRON MAIDEN plus it has the vibe of old school Punk bands like THE EXPLOITED. Unlike other "throwback" fashioned albums that I have listened to before, it's only this album that did not bore me. The energy is high and on point right in the beginning and it developed well as the album progressed.
Mid-pacer "Teufelskresis" is an excellent follow up to the adrenaline driven title track. Strangely, it reminded me of this classic German Speed Metal band WARDANCE, maybe because of the riffs and its attitude-filled delivery. "Der Rock Der Es Bringt" is simply all-out rock n roll. It has excellent guitar passages and it would make a tremendous live performance with its pace and sing-along lines. It also has the best guitar solo in the album. "Kommando" has a thrashiest feel compared with the rest of the tracks with its fast tempo and crunchy riffs. It has a simple but very effective song structure, and just like "Der Rock Der Es Bringt", this song will surely make a crowd go frenzy. The naturally angry German accent filled with more force in it works perfectly well with their overall sound. It has that straightforward screw you attitude and it was executed in very raw manner making it so natural. Last song in the album is the shortest track "Rockmanie" which is a bit different from "Kommando" because it is less angry and it's also a lot slower. But in terms of catchiness, it still hits just enough. The amazing riffs are still there, and the solos are still top-class.
In terms of production, the band did an excellent job - and most of that should be credited for the excellent guitar work. For the lyrics, well, it has some clichés from the late 70's till the 80's with its themes that talk about the genre itself, but like I said earlier, it will never bore you. The only issue I saw is that the way the EP was closed by "Rockmanie". I really don't think it was the best idea to put a slower song (compared to the 3rd and 4th track) as the closer, for it could have easily been the high octane "Kommando" just for the sake of pacing. Aside for that everything else is very good.
