I am proud to present to you: TERRIFIC VERDICT; signed via Inverse Records, hailing from Finnish grounds - performing Thrash Metal, on their debut album entitled: "Wheel Of Fortune" (released March 29th, 2019). Since formation in 1987; the trio in question have 2 Demos, a Split and this here debut album entitled: "Wheel Of Fortune". 14 tracks ranging at around 51:17; TERRIFIC VERDICT arrange an intricately designed formula of heavy-hitting Thrash Metal developments. "Too Late To Love Or Hate" begins the record; conveying amplified adrenaline, adroitly aggressive bounciness and a blistering barrage of boisterously catchy crunchiness. Chaotic chugging, and galloping frenzies of flamboyantly hasty harmonies - hardened hymns fueled with groovy maliciousness. "Sleep Paralysis" injects infectiously meticulous rhythms with rambunctious vehemence; utilizing versatile speed, punchline persistence & profusely robust relentlessness that thumps with stomping precision – rampaged with solid slabs of riveting tempos & ominous onslaughts.
Consisting of Pete Korpi on vocals/bass; the audible front man demonstrates a complex distinctive of hostility, rougly raw pipes that pulses with strong singing stability...while pumping quintessential strums of steel at his disposal. The titular track engages on dexterous creativity; combustable fluidly fabricated finesse from Mikko Siltanen on guitars, shredding with rip-roaring soars of thick and monstrously meaty nastiness that varies with tight savagery. "Lazy Jack" implements diversely dynamic diligence; distributing firepower, expertise and adroit attributes in which prodigiously wonder with rapidly swift nimbleness & sonically seamless stampeding. "Apprentice" consistently compiles battering bolts of hammering contrast from drumming powerhouse Ippu Arvilommi; smashing the set with slamming virtuosity, using tenacious technicalities.
TERRIFIC VERDICT knows how to thrash traditionally; thunderously transitioning progressive songwriting memorability, original pursuits of prominent quakes of vicious variety. "Mr. Cleaner" embellishes on experimental executions; culminating concretely gnarly instrumentation, converging detailed elements in which showcases organic substance and energetic captivation. "Dance Of Death" establishes volatile snappiness; juxtaposed with jumpy frolicking, frantic deadliness...fusing demonic bursts of hell-raising ramifications. "Carolina Reaper" unleashes revolving shines of silver-lining laceration; a borderline foundation of headbanging forges, crafted into a wildly rushing race of persevering pummeling and speedy sophistication - manifesting melodious remedies that thunder the soul with remarkable results.
"Son Of Satan (SOS)" administers characteristic blends of polyphonic soundscapes that pound with rigorous swerve; uniquely swift old-school thrash roots with modernized subjugations. While "Big C" methodically portrays a large margin of profoundly salubrious overarches of ponderously weighty tones that provide talented potential for this resurrected trio. "No Return" blasts fiercely with razor-sharp madness; lurking into a trailblazing trend kill that merges constructively distinguished ideas into excelling fruition, again - TERRIFIC VERDICT immersify intensely imaginative concepts in which never shows no compromises nor restraints into embodying a richly tasteful style of metal thrashing mayhem.
"Silent Honor" exercises cohesive action; assisting aforementioned abilities in which screams with more vengeful raspiness, sinister shrieks and primitively primal remorse. TERRIFIC VERDICT embody crude lyricism; quirky subtlety, and a fashionable knack for inventing enthusiastic licks and crushing splendidness. "I Won't Drop A Tear" enlightens fulfilling hooks into gritty; anthemic agility, assorted with remarkable triumphs that guarantee to get your head banging fix. Overall concluding "Wheel Of Fortune" with the finale song: "The Mystery Of Phantom"; which is a 1:35 blitz of explosive pandemonium, my expectations were exceeded as the band certainly outdone themselves here - a refreshing recollection of replay-ability that is definitely worth discovering...grand stuff!
