Coming to us from Stockholm, Sweden, is the Speed Metal band MYSTIK. Formed in 2016 "Mystik" will be the bands first full length album. The band is comprised of Julia von Krusenstjerna on vocals and bass. Beatrice Karlsson and Lo Wikman on guitars and Sven Nilsson on drums. If Speed Metal is what you crave look no further. This band throws the fuck down.

"Into Oblivion" starts off the album with a bang bigger than the creation of the universe. The musicianship is incredible and the vocals are on point. This is the epitome of Speed Metal and the riffs are non stop. "Nightmares" reminds me of old school IRON MAIDEN which made my day. This song really goes hard and I absolutely loved every second of it especially the vocals. "Ancient Majesty" keeps the ball rolling and keeps the blood pumping. This is one song that will make you want to start rocking out and throwing the horns up. The guitar work on this song is absolutely incredible.

"Gallows Hill" is actually really fucking heavy and a really great addition to the album. It's one of the best songs so far. The lyrics are really great and bring the song to a whole new level. If I knew the song by heart I would most definitely be singing along. "Lake of Necrosis" begins with a really eerie organ playing that leads into a really nice riff. This song is pure energy and a whole lot of fun to listen to. I really love the change in tempo as well. I really think that Julia showed off her range on this song as well and she is a bad ass vocalist.

"Hellish Force" almost reminds me of BLIND GUARDIAN or DEMONS AND WIZARDS. If you sound anything like those bands, you are doing something incredibly right. This song is definitely a Speed Metal song but it has some Power Metal aspects to it that I enjoy a whole lot. "Bleed for the Night" is another really well written song. This is the albums battle song for sure. Out there demolishing the demon hoards with a blood lust that is insatiable. I have to say this is by far my favorite song so far.

The self titled song "Mystik" is also the last full length song and it's a really well written song. I really feel like this band is going to go places. This song is epic as hell and it feels like they brought the old school Power and Speed Metal back to life. The final song is a thirty second outro which actually added a whole lot for how short it was. All in all I think this album was pretty amazing. I feel like they have brought new life to Speed Metal but also stayed true to it's roots. I hope to hear more from them in the future.
