Carved In Stone - Tales Of Glory & Tragedy album cover

CARVED IN STONE is the solo project of Swawa, who has deep roots in the Metal scene, taking the part of female vocals and keyboards in several German Metal groups until she ended up with the Black Pagan Metal band TAUNUSHEIM.
Gates Of Glory & Tragedy is Swawa's third release after The Forgotten Belief and Hear The Voice. CARVED IN STONE is an one-man project but in this case it additionally is an one-woman-band; she plays acoustic guitars, keyboards, flute, harp and she also sings. The songs have this pure folk sound with acoustic instruments (the exception of keyboards exists for atmospheric reasons), with the absence of percussion. The song that differs is If I Could Only, which has a great atmosphere and melody with beautiful lyrics about Nature's Call. The lyrics in general talk about Pagan legends and myths full of feelings and pictures. The cover of Gates Of Glory & Tragedy is a beautiful photograph of a magnificent view, that brings in mind the almighty cover of Twilight Of Gods by BATHORY.

Gates Of Glory & Tragedy has no Metal interest, but for fans of Pagan myths and believers it surely is a must-have CD. If you want to take a journey through misty mountains and virgin forests, CARVED IN STONE is your ticket.
