STEEL RAISER have unleased "Acciaio" upon unsuspecting listeners, and they will thoroughly enjoy this aural assault on their ears. Out via Iron Shield Records on February 15, 2019. STEEL RAISER can be compared to heavy metal greats Judas Priest, Manowar, and Iron Maiden. However, this steel is made of something different. There is a sense of hunger that some veteran bands have lost. All must listen to "Acciaio" and bask in its storm of swords.
"Demon & Angel" is a goddamn beast of an opening track. There are moments that it treads on power metal territory but stays the traditional path. Flawless and has a perfect sing along chorus. STEEL RAISER know the significance of a song title, and "Heavy Metal Hero" is a prime example. It is destined to become a hit among fans in European metal festivals. STEEL RAISER bring the heavy metal thunder on this one. "King of the Night" is a relentless song with razor sharp riffs. It is clear that this album is all about high flying vocals and tons of epic riffs and solos. I mistakenly thought "Genghis Khan" was the Iron Maiden version, but I was pleasantly surprised to find this testosterone soaked jam. Commence beast mode! After listening to "Highway Eagle", I have come to the conclusion that STEEL RAISER are not driving 55, but are rather blazing by. Alfonso's vocals are on fire.
Wherever" is a surprise ballad. Here we see STEEL RAISER channel their inner Savatage and perform a memorable mammoth of a song. Alfonso again does an outstanding performance vocally. Holy smokes does it ever get stuck in your head. Fair warning! "Night of the Duster" will instantly melt your face off. The Rob Halford-esque scream in the beginning is a nice touch. There are moments of Blind Guardian as well. What a ripper of a song. STEEL RAISER continue on the metal warpath with "Spirits of Vengeance". Tremendous and skull penetrating riffs. Can't ask for anything better than that. Now, for the closing song, "Up the Fist". The title is clever and will easily be a fan favorite. Combine that with a catchy chorus and banging guitars, this is a recipe for a toxic waltz. Excellent closing song. Make sure to get those horns up!
STEEL RAISER have delivered the goods on "Acciaio". Brain melting riffs are littered throughout the album they make it easy for listeners to embrace it and have fun. It is important to have a sense of humor in life and STEEL RAISER understand this very well. "Acciaio" is an album that should be played loud and proud. Overall, this album is important because it ensures that metal will never die. For fans of Judas Priest, Striker, and Enforcer.
