Eunomia is a Power Metal quintet from Norway formed in 2011. The band first released an EP called "Crystal Sword" back in 2013 and started working on their debut full length record in 2016. Now, the record is finally out, and is titled "The Chronicles of Eunomia Part 1". And yes, it's a concept album. It's almost like a textbook power metal concept album, you know, a warrior trying to regain his glory against the dark lord with the use of a mystical/mythical sword hidden somewhere. The main difference here is a plot twist, but I won't spoil the story here, you must check it out yourself. The only thing I can say is that, it's probably a beginning of a saga, as the title indicates (PART 1).

The album contains 12 tracks, including three epic long tracks at least eight minutes long. The songs have a very rich orchestration, and a very dynamic atmosphere. The mood in every line is equally paralleled by the instruments. The use of choirs also made the songs more epic and catchy. The first song "Crystal Sword" is a perfect example of it. It has hyper fast tempo in the intro led by the drums and an orchestral background. The song is simply glorious all throughout in every aspect. The buildup in the verses is massive, and the chorus is very anthemic and heart pumping. They also make a great job delivering the story without sacrificing the beauty of music. The guitar solo is also outstanding. It's a neoclassical attack of guitar which blends perfectly with the energy and vibe of the song. Songs "Freedom Call" and "Glory of the King" further strengthens this signature.

Now, if we will talk about epicness, this album can parade three tracks, these are the earlier mentioned tracks that are at least eight and a half minutes long. My personal favorite is "Last Stand". It may not be among the fastest songs in the album, but it's absolutely heroic. The utilization of multiple vocals worked perfectly well, giving the song a very powerful harmony and emotions. The chorus is one that will give every power metal warrior a reason to sing along with their fists in the air. This song will surely be a classic of the band. The power in this power metal band is simply astounding. The constant use of choirs and orchestrations make it super epic. Not to mention the excellent job by the guitars and the drums leading every single step of the way. One more thing I like about this album is that it's so star-studded. There are lots of guests that appeared, all from different departments. Guests include Alessandro Conti (TWILIGHT FORCE, RHAPSODY, TRICK OR TREAT, etc.), Henning Basse (FIREWIND), Francesco Cavalieri (WIND ROSE, FAIRYLAND), Ronnie Kønig (SIGNUM REGIS, DREAM PATROL, SYMPHONITY), Jimmy Hedlund (FALCONER) and a lot lot more!

Summing up, this album is a great debut. The second part of this saga will surely by worth the wait.
