Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: MIDNATTSOL; signed via Napalm Records, hailing from the glory of Germany - performing Symphonic/Folk Metal, on their 4th album entitled: "The Aftermath" (released May 25th, 2018).

Since formation in 2002; the quintet in question have 3 albums in their discography so far, I am introduced to their 4th album entitled: "The Aftermath". 10 tracks ranging at around 53:24; MIDNATTSOL arrange an intricately designed formula of heavy-hitting Symphonic/Folk Metal developments, "The Purple Sly" starts things off - battering my eardrums with blistering contrast of melodious, and meticulous manifestations. The quartet deliver constructively boisterous diligence with persistently proficient ramifications of flamboyant finesse, with hints of raw relentlessness which conveys fluidly polished electrical energy that amalgamates with concretely cemented solidity of epic songwriting tales – there is more symphonic elements here at the beginning rather than folk, both converge in distinguished yet excelling ways, however.

Consisting of vocal duet Carmen Elise Espenæs & Liv Kristine Espenæs; the duo demonstrate complex diversity in their pipes, consistently distributing clean-singing that is well-executed and profusely robust in songs like "Syns Sang" & "Vem Kan Segla". I have noticed the lack of English lyricism; yet if RAMMSTEIN can get as popular as they are, why can not MIDNATTSOL? The instrumentation is majestic, and the musicianship establishes progressively technical ultilizations, attributing in creatively detailed craftsmanship embellishments. Dextrous guitarists Alex Kautz & Stephan Adolph efficiently invent a vastly organic substance of stunning riffs and solos that clap like hammering thunder in songs like "Ikje Glem Meg" & "Herr Mannelig", showcasing catchy grooves & epic implementations.

Keyboardist Daniel Fischer generates enlightening and fulfilling captivation in the gripping "The Aftermath", an aesthetic of battle hardened hymns and ambient atmospheres of riveting orchestrations - this culminates with dynamic variety and rapidly swift nimbleness in a uniquely fused fashion. "The Unveiled Truth" is where the band integrate English lyrics which is a nice supplement; while the music has gentle guitar acoustics which anthems with more distracting harmonics. "Evaluation Of Time" is an elegantly exquisite instrumental; remarkably invented with salubrious effectiveness and efficiacious Nordic, folky styles. MIDNATTSOL excel with a granduer of dramatically composed tones, angelic vocalization from the wonderful Espenæs sisters and an all round borderline foundation of grit and skill.

"Forsaken" has mesmerizing yet magnificant soundscapes in which is enhanced with a rich sound production contribution, aligned with original yet memorable characteristics. Overall concluding the record with the brilliant bonus track: "Eitrdropar"; I can certify that MIDNATTSOL certainly outdone themselves with "The Aftermath", a great discovery that all Metal fans alike should enjoy.<
