The Calling
Primitai
Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: PRIMITAI; signed via Dissonance Records, hailing from England - performing Heavy/Thrash Metal, on their 5th album entitled: "The Calling" (released May 25th, 2018).
Since formation in 2003; the quintet in question have 4 albums in their discography so far, I am introduced to their 5th album entitled: "The Calling". 10 tracks ranging at around 53:56; PRIMITAI arrange an intricately designed formula of hard-hitting Heavy/Thrash Metal developments, starting off with the harmonic 1:10s introduction "Possess Me" - the quartet deliver a concrete slab of solid distinctions as we charge into the battering "Demons Inside". The borderline foundation here contrasts with traditional Heavy Metal traits, amalgamated with some Thrash Metal aesthetics for that energetic injection – diversely executed melodies, manifest with dynamic songwriting and profuse sound production precision, proficiently performed with a raw ramification and flamboyant finesse.
Consisting of Guy on vocals; the frontman consistently demonstrates a clean vocal pattern, which is converged with a hint of grit and rough culminations. "Overdrive" accelerates the instrumentation with blistering riffs and boisterous solos that has a organic substance of thunderous, and melodious progressions. Complex, dexterous duo Srdjan & Sergio on their guitars convey an efficient amount of rhythmic relentlessness in songs like the epic "Curse Of Olympus" & the bouncy "No Survivors" - the pair distribute a diligent contribution of battle hardened hymns which chug with galloping rampages of speedy stability. "Memories Lost" embellishes on elegant catchiness; fuelled with groovy, punchline persistency which has fluidly polished technicalities to it.
Powerhouse bassist Scott provides audible pulverization in his arsenal of riveting pummelling adroitness. The titular track and "Into The Light" showcases creatively composed craftsmanship with constructive synthesizers, fused with hammering thumpiness from crunchy drummer Jonny - attributing assaults of distinguished efficiency which onslaughts in a primitively malicious fashion. "Into The Dark has a similar characteristic, differentiated with exquisite hard rocking fulfillments - there is a lot of submerged Power/Melodic Metal at this portion which still sounds excelling. Overall concluding "The Calling" with the last track: "Tempest Returns"; I enjoyed a discovery that has a lot of salubriousness to it, PRIMITAI certainly outdone themselves yet I feel like a lot could be improved though - still a good experience, however.<
