Lightning Strikes Again
Blackslash
Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: BLACKSLASH; signed via Iron Shield Records, hailing from the glory of Germany - performing Heavy Metal, on their 3rd album entitled: "Lightning Strikes Again" (released May 4th, 2018).
Since formation in 2007; the quintet in question have 2 albums behind them, I am introduced to their 3rd album entitled: "Lightning Strikes Again". 10 tracks ranging at around 49:02... BLACKSLASH arrange an intricately designed development of hard-hitting, Heavy Metal distinctions. Starting off with the titular track and "Night City Street Lights", the quartet deliver a solid slab of concretely dynamic manifestations - a grandiose melodious structure, in which is amalgamated with epic rhythmic rawness. Not only does the record cover remind me of IRON MAIDEN, the band also compile excelling vocalizations that screams with a vengeance - juxtaposed with battering instrumentation and blistering riffs and solos.
Consisting of David Hofmeier on the powerhouse drums, who consistently hammers his steel with complex relentlessness. "Skyline Rider" showcases the band's proficiently driven rhythms, which has a bouncy chorus section that contrasts with an elegant singalong section. Dexterous duo Daniel Hölderle & Christian Haas (lead guitar) demonstrates efficiently composed melodies as "Eyes Of A Stranger" distributes crunchy sound production adroitness, and an admirably thumpy aesthetic of chugging gallops with an organic substance of fluidly polished vocals from Clemens Haas - who establishes a diligent formula of exquisitely executed performances.
"Illuminate The Night" shines on with those groovy chorus sections, providing jumpy speed and punchy singing efficaciousness. Alec Trojan on bass supplies a rampaging stampede of pummelling audibility in songs like "Steel Held High", contributing a vast amount of creative craftsmanship. "Shine On" constructively embellishes on unique attributions as the band distinguishes enlightening characteristics in which captivate, grab and hooks me with a fulfilling experience. "Unknown Heroes" has a commendable songwriting memorability, still full of frienzied assaults of thunderous onslaughts and pulverizing expertise - fun stuff all round.
Overall concluding "Lightning Strikes Again" with the final song: "Right To The Top", BLACKSLASH certainly outdone themselves with this one. The band thrives with dominate finesse, primitively keeping the metal alive with fierce determination and profusely robust velocity - definitely worth checking out.<
