VNDTA, pronounce Vendetta, is a fairly new band from Hertfordshire. The band was formed in 2015 and has now release their first EP "Pale Glow". The band touts influences from PANTERA to NO DOUBT. The title track on the album starts out quietly and slowly builds up until the music is hard and in your face. Megan's vocals are harsh and heavy, matching with the music perfectly. When the chorus kicks in Megan switches up to more clean vocals, it makes one wonder how the two can both come from the same throat. The clean vocals have a quirky sound to them that is reminiscent of bands like NO DOUBT, but when she goes harsh she holds her own with the heaviest vocalist. The music throughout the track is heavy and to the point.

"Excuses" comes out swinging with heavy riffs. The vocals are clean but mix with the music beautifully. Megan saves the harsh vocals for the chorus this time around. Growling the verses to make the words flow with the heavy guitars. The whole song is on point and one of the shining examples on the album. "Rare Breed" riffs and drum at the beginning of the song draw you in, and once the song kicks in you stay to experience it. Megan's vocals switch between the clean and harsh with such ease, you would swear two different people are singing. The song is high energy and will have you headbanging before you know it.

"Martyr" begins with an epic scream from Megan, letting listeners know they are in for a heavy song. The guitars and drums are heavy and brutal throughout. The vocals switch throughout like the other songs, but they do it in such a way that makes the song just flow. You will catch yourself listening to this track over and over. "Swine" is my favorite track on the album. The whole presentation from the music to the vocals just hits all the right parts for me. The band released a video for this song and the video is a shorter version of this song from the album version. That saddens me, because the parts that are not in the video are truly amazing. You can feel the emotion behind this song, so if you listen to it make sure to check out the album version. It is an amazing song among great songs.

The band wraps up the EP with "Virus". Again, a very solid song to end the album with. I would say it's the weakest song on the album, but by no means is it a weak song. It has some amazing riffs, and vocals. It just doesn't seem to flow as well as the other songs on the album. I will say I absolutely loved this EP from VNDTA. I loved Megan's voice, the harsh vocals where broken up with lighter clean vocals throughout most of the songs which I think gave the songs more personality. The music was stellar throughout the album, melodic and heavy at every turn. I wished the album was longer but with the few songs that they offered the band succeeded in making a wonderful album. This is definitely a band to watch and support. I anxiously wait to see what else they do in the future.
