Brazilian Black/Thrash/Speed Metal mash trio formed in 2001 in Sao Paulo. They have been a prolific songwriting group since they release of their debut album "The True Metal" in 2004, going on to release for full length albums and their now third EP, titled "Blood 'N' Spikes," in 2017. The album contains five tracks, and a bonus cover of "Freewheel Burning" from JUDAS PRIEST.

"Hells Gangbang" sports an amalgam of the aforementioned genres, with gravely vocals thick with reverb, and a mid-tempo rhythm led by a couple different guitar riffs. Interesting that they chose to cover JUDAS PRIEST, because some of the riffs here remind me of earlier incantations of them. The guitar solos is a bit lackluster however but done with some determination. "Swallowed by Darknesss" has a slower pace and groovier rhythm that is easy to move along with. It has a bit more of a Black Metal sound when the fast picked guitars come into play along with the blast beat drumming. "Obscure Creation" moves a little faster but with a familiar sound. Being that all of the songs are in the three to four minute range, the EP suffers a bit in the area of diversity.

"Altars of the Black Rites" has a bit of a darker sound out of the gates, with a solitary guitar riff. A bullet shot breaks the silence and leads into the main sound of the song. The vocals keep it rooted in a Black Metal sound while the riffing is more in the Thrash arena. "Into the Void of Death" has a really tight snarl but the riffing remains pretty linear. In this manner, it doesn't allow for something that can be distinguished from the other tracks. "Freewheel Burning" is the JUDAS PRIEST cover that closes the album. The instruments are spot on, but of course the vocals remain in the Black Metal style. In this regard, it's a nice personal take on the classic song and I can almost visualize Tipton and Downing on stage exchanging the harmonies in the riffs.

Overall, I found the EP to have potential but it never quite broke out into something that was easily memorable. The riffing was too straightforward and safe, and although the vocals were menacing as they should be, the tracks were too close to one another in style and length.
