Italian Hard Rockers MIDNIGHT SIN formed in 2010 and their debut album "Sex First" was released in 2014. "Sex First" was well received by the press in many countries and allowed the band to tour with the likes of SECRET SPHERE, HELL IN THE CLUB, and many others.  "One Last Ride" was released October 13th, 2017.

Let's take a quick ride to the past! 80's sleaze rock, hair metal, modern hard rock with some accents of Southern Rock is what you will hear in MIDNIGHT SIN's latest album "One Last Ride."  Unfortunately, "One Last Ride" is not as adventurous as blasting to the past might be.  I found "One Last Ride" to be extremely boring, lacking variation, with no tracks that truly stand out and having the personality of a wet carrot.

I hate having to write bad reviews, truly I do but I have to with this album. The album offers 10 tracks, and it wasn't catchy, it wasn't mind blowing, or maybe the fault is with me and the fact that I do not generally prefer this kind of metal/rock. I don't know, but I usually find some positive things to say about an album despite having the personality of a wet carrot.

The track, "Never Say Never" is probably the highlight of "One Last Ride" because it has a pretty cool guitar solo but then the rest of the song, as well as the others, fall short and not worth remembering. "Send Me A Light," has that groovy, bluesy feel to it and again, just boring chords and melodies but with just the right amount of sleaze added into the mix. It is the song that plays in the background when trying to seduce a hooker while reeking of alcohol and smoke.

I will say that the album cover is a pretty neat concept. I like the obscurity of the carousel. And that's about it. Again, to the band, I apologize but it is a NO for me.
