After the pleasant "Die Knowing" out in 2014, COMEBACK KID mark their return on the scene with this new "Outsider", out for Nuclear Blast: this new studio release entertains and engage the listener since the first listening, in a good blend of energetic Hardcore and walls of sound. Titletrack "Outsider" open up with mixed spurts of rage and melody, in a pleasant blend which gives place to raging vocals and variations, up until a shattering finale. A catchy chorus refrain characterizes "Surrender Control", with a crescendo in rhythm and speed in the second half. "Absolute" sees Devin Townsend as a guest: it has an old school thickness in its veins, breaking rhythm with a bridge increasing in harshness, backed by effected vocals.

"Hell of a scene" starts off as a bullet with its speed, softening in the middle, with a good bass texture. "Somewhere, Somehow" leans towards alt rock influences, as "Consumed the Vision" does, with the guest appearance by Chirss Cresswell and trash riffages in the end. Second half of this release sees metal influences crawling out the surface: this becomes evident with "I'll be that" and "Outrage", a NY Hardcore track, enriched by choruses. "Blindspot" is another old school track, while "Livid, I'm Prime" is another sign of the level reached by COMEBACK KID in mixing genres together reached their own originality, in this case as Thrashcore track. "Recover" is a melodic track, one of the best in this release. Closing this release, "Throw that Stone", a powerful and raging track, and "Moment in time", featuring Northcote in a balanced track between acoustic and shattering sections.

"Outsite" is a fresh and powerful breeze in the genre, with COMEBACK KID able to deliver a metal laced Hardcore, engaging listeners with their energy.
